Re: Imperium #5 Discussion
I'm excited see to Harada's team together, after taking months to build up their characters. And I was looking forward to Scott's work on Imperium, and he didn't disappoint. Scott's long run on Captain America with Ed Brubaker was one of Marvel's best from the last 20 years!!

Re: Sketch cover gallery
I am new to sketch covers too, and learned the hard way that The Valiant blank cover has the WORST paper to draw on. I got these three at Heroes Con, two weeks back. X-O by Cary Nord (he really struggled to sketch on the paper) http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee187/AnthonyForg/Valiant/HeroesCon20...

I picked up a few too!
Their having Imperium #5 on sale must be an oversight, because they never seem to discount the current Valiant issues.

VALIANT creator John Dixon passed away
Some of you probably read this earlier. Sorry to say that one of Valiant's original creators - John Dixon - passed away last week. Jim Shooter brought John over to ink many of the original titles like Harbinger, Bloodshot, Eternal Warrior, H.A.R.D. Corps, Shadowman and Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom....

Nice 9.8! My signed copy survived a convention, with no shot at being NM. :P I like the Harby Wars sketchbook. Just wish it had more pages. :!: I'm trying to list the various previews. (not counting store variants...) The Valiant DB is very helpful! I know I'm missing a few of them... Valiant FCBD 2...

VEI preview comics - how rare are they? how many were there?
I noticed a few hundred copies of Bloodshot Reborn and Ivar previews at my lcbs over the weekend, and it got me wondering... which preview books are considered "hard to find"? Some were convention exclusive handouts while others were distributed through comic book stores. It sounds like th...

The real $$$$ is in the 3 Bloodshot price variants and XO price variant.

I never had anything graded. You mean before this, they DIDN'T tell you what issues they found in your book? Sheesh, how hard is that, why leave it a mystery.

So... are any of you making Ben an offer for it?
For some reason his CAF gallery shows it as 'for sale'
But that may be how he lists all of his art

Re: Solar Alpha and Omega
It was most likely partially a marketing ploy to keep retailers/readers buying all 10 issues.
I wonder if it was the first mega image a publisher ever did (like last Summer's Armor Hunter 18 part interlocking cover)

Not sure there's more to it. OTV has a story about it here. http://onlythevaliant.com/2012/04/the-worlds-largest-comic-book-panel/ The largest panel was originally published on the center pages of issues 1-10. Together they formed that one detailed image - that transitions between BWS's Alpha and Om...

because when it came out no one else was doing it, and I recall in one of his answers to a letter Frank Miller told Jim Lee, Time Sale, and Dave Lapham to stop coping his style even though it could be argued that Miller was coping Sale's style. Scott McDaniel (who's work I enjoy) was also called ou...
