This is one of my favorite Shadowman covers. I think it does a great job at relaying what the character is about.

Man, I'd love to have this original artwork hanging on my wall!

Database suggestion

Perhaps this has been suggested before, but what about including a brief summary of each issue in the database? There is already a ton of info there and all it needs is a summary to be complete. It doesn't have to be much - just a paragraph or two basically to serve as a reminder to people who haven...

Some of my favorite covers have already been posted (Rai #0, Shadowman #8, EW #4), but here's one of my favorites from Solar. http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/CD/vh1/Solar/solar05.jpg I like the "mood" here. Phil coming "face-to-face" with Solar in a moment of introspection c...

At the end of EW #14 he taken over the body of a British boy. Is that the last we see of him until the 41st century? Didn't he gain the ability to enter computer systems too or am I imagining that or confusing him with someone else? Didn't he become a cross between the Lawnmower Man and Azazel from...

I thought he was a reall great and interesting villian - until he was able to posess other people's bodies. I liked the idea of him just being reincarnated over and over better. So you just liked his appearance in Eternal Warrior 4, huh? LOL Yeah, I guess so. I just thought it was a great concept t...

I'll admit - I'm not a big Acclam fan, but the later Shadowman issues were some of the better ones of the bunch! I would really like to hear more from you as well if you are willing to share with us. :thumb: Chris The way you guys are raving, I'll have to see what I can do about getting some of tho...

Shadowman #2

I've begun my re-reading of the Valiant Universe. Although I pick out an random issue to read every so often when I'm going through my comics, I haven't re-read the entire universe in a LONG time. I'm not going by order of release, I'm just reading whatever suits my fancy. I started with the TBPs. I...

I'm with you, Shakespear. They've never done anything for me either. I'd read an issue every now and then as a kid, but they never drew my attention and it always seemed like a chore to finish it. I gave it another shot when JMS took over, but I still have no interest in the title.

One of my favorite "obscure" books was "Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children." It was published by Piranha Press (a DC imprint). Although they were printed as comic books, it was mostly prose on one page with an illustration on the opposing page. They were weird little intimate sh...

I said I'd dig out my custom made Valiant action figures and post pictures this weekend. I try to be a man of my word, so here they are! All of these were made back when Valiant was top dog. Everything was hand painted by me - I wasn't able to print stickers for costume emblems back then. And I'm no...

The only reason I make that suggestion is because, as I said, being late to arrive here it was very difficult for me to find any info on them. I'd see mention of them in the boards, but really didn't know what they were, what issues were available, etc. I don't think they should be in Overstreet or ...

I don't think the VcVSS books should be in the "price guide." I think price guides should be strictly for officially released items. However, I think info on the VcVSS books should be included in the database. When I initially tried to find info on the VcVSS books, I figured the database w...

I think that's a good question. Since I'm a noob here, I dug all through the database trying to find info on the VcVSS comics. Also, since I'm a noob, I'm very sad that the program is discontinuing. I missed out big time - especially on the Shadowman #8 VcVSS. I'd give my right nut for one of those.

I know I read the first issue, but I don't think I read beyond that. It seemed to me to be a "remake" of Shadowman. Some scenes seemed to be taken directly from Shadowman #1 with one line in particular that was word-for-word (about jazz being "free form improv in the dark"). Can ...

If we take the Acclaim era into consideration, then Quantum & Woody was the best of that line. Although I also sorta liked Troublemakers.

Without a doubt, Shadowman is my favorite Valiant character. Being a Louisiana native with a little cajun blood in me myself, he was what initially attracted me to the Valiant universe. The voodoo vigilante practicing freeform improvisation in the dark ridding the night of punks and Necromancers and...

I have some custom figures I'll take pictures of and post if I can find them. I made them back during Valiant's prime. I have a Dr. Solar (from the Gold Key years with green skin), ShadowMan, Bloodshot, Rai, and Hammerhead (from H.A.R.D. Corps). The Dr. Solar figure could have been better. It was ma...

I think my opinion pretty much goes along with what I've read a few times in this thread already, Miller is better if you evaulate each piece by itself, while Simonson's works better as a whole. I guess I'm in the minority here. I think as a whole, Miller's cover is better. As a large, interconnect...
