Re: hi i am new here
You are on the list, pal... That sounds ominous am I going to be fed to dunlow? Newfies are stringy, man.You have to tenderize them first, then slowly gnaw on them, like jerky. It is fortunate, then, that MarkRose is a Novascotian and not a newfie. As per usual Chiclo is correct. Although N...

Re: BS & HC: H.A.R.D. Corps #0 discussion
What if the Monk's blood was the original source of the Bloodshot healing/regeneration? When have we seen Bloodshot that wasn't based on nanites? BS #0? Hard to say. They seem to show early versions of Bloodshot with large devices attached to them similar to the original HARD Corps tech. The first ...

Re: What is the 1st Appearance of Preacher?
I do love questions like this. As a comic seller, it is interesting how this work. The best I can decide is that the "comic community" decides what is the "1st appearance" many times. For example...... What is the 1st appearance of The Walkng Dead? or Image's Nowhere Men? or Inv...

Re: LCS chatter
In Cambridge, UK, there are apparently "a handful" of customers who are buying all (or near) the VEI books, but that's it. There are usually one or two copies of one or two comics on the shelves, but they don't really order VEI stock for the shelves. The staff don't really know much about...

Single worst issue the company has published. You've obviously not read the second Q&W arc or that issue that came out between Shadowman #10 and #12. Yes. I have. Q&W is the worst arc. Shadowman 11 was simply a throwaway. But this? I get what the idea was. But I found it poorly executed, ru...

Re: Does Dark Horse consider this line a success?
Very good analysis, xodacia81. I must say, though, that the Doctor Solar new origin that appeared as backups in issues 5-8 of the Dark Horse Gold Key run was Shooter at the very top of his game. JC Vaughn called it the best script he's ever read. It was out of the park. I know a lot of people gave ...

Nice! Thanks for the feedback on Lazarus, Dunlow and kjjohanson. Looks like I'll be making a stop at the comic shop on my way home tomorrow to see what they have in stock for Lazarus. As for what I'm reading, I'm finally branching out beyond Valiant since that's what got me restarted in comics in 2...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Sat down at B&N and read Court of Owls/Night of Owls. I've heard so much good stuff about this that I had to see for myself. The critics were right. This was an excellent storyline. Love how it restructures, and yet affirms, the entire Bat-Mythos. Great stuff. I've been saying that for a while....

Nope. It's a game of the world, and probably began in Scotland, Ireland or Wales. I'd say that to Don Cherry and the rest of the xenophobic Canadian media. What happened to you guys in the last ten years? I meant that more tongue-in-cheek myself. I have nothing but the utmost respect for great hock...

Re: VALIANT MASTERS aka 90's VU HC editions discussion
Not to be a wet blanket, but... not all of the Valiant stuff needs to be reprinted. EW would be nice, but I think a volume 2 there would be a detriment. Sure, us hardcore collectors would pick them up, but the stuff immediately after issue 7 is bad news. The title went 50 issues. Bad news=4/5 of th...

They got me off my but and got me in the store buying comics again. Then screwed me around now Im buying lots of comics and to this day and forevermore will never buy a dark horse comic again. So yes they did lose money. Bad bad bad company. I certainly look at Dark Horse in a far more negative lig...

This is a book I feel no special affinity for. I don't dislike it, I just don't feel like it has earned a place in the lineup, yet. I am eagerly awaiting the P&B miniseries, though. If there was a book from the line that I might drop, it would be this one, but I can't see myself doing that. Gott...

Talk tough. Until you guys don't defend that gold medal in hockey. Seriously? Are we pretending that gold medals in the Olympics mean anything? It's hockey. That's not Olympics.
