Re: XO and Savage cancelled??

XO was their best selling book in March, but granted it was a #1. Looking back over the past 8 years though I believe XO has outsold Bloodshot consistently. It’s also up until now been the better book consistently (minus the Lemire run). Can’t use the Bloodshot numbers from March (or any numbers in...

Re: XO and Savage cancelled??

I think this has more to do with the “pencils down” order and halt to publication during the Coronavirus outbreak than anything else. Savage was always going to be a limited series, so it’s not likely to get cancelled, and XO—as crappy as the reviews have been—is still their best selling, “flagship”...

Theorize away...

8 years ago today, VEI XO Manowar #1 was released. Sonic Dan posted on Twitter about it and Dino responded with this: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200503/0e19a94e66180fac6adc3df574578ef2.jpg So this was on top of Gilad appearing as a soldier on horseback in the issue, and the rumored Aram appe...

Re: Ideas to make Greg Paks first arc EW make sense

EW is a bit of a mess continuity wise. Taking a break during that whole time (Civil War to Present) doesn’t make sense unless he was still doing hero-like things without being the Earth’s Fist and Steel. A&A shows him in the 60s at Kennedy’s assassination. Unity shows him in WWI & WWII. Mean...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

2 Boom! Series: Something is Killing the Children and Once and Future. I thought both were really good. SIKTC is a horror book and does a great job being creepy as hell. O&F has horror/supernatural/magic adventure if that’s your thing. I’ve been enjoying Once & Future - I had gotten behind ...

Missed opportunity for sure.

Re: Disregarding continuity...a solution?

While I agree the recent titles are blatantly busting continuity, we shouldn’t pretend VEI didn’t often do the same. The original EW arc by Greg Pak, anyone? Dead Drop made no sense character-wise. Bloodshot was (and still is) all over the place. It finally settled with the Lemire run, but not witho...

Do you mean Incursion? That would make sense. That's way ahead in my reading order
Yeah, Incursion. What was Insurgence? The Hasbro crossover?

Re: In Valiant 2020, where's the Geomancer? Who's the Geomancer?

There was a 4002 Geomancer IIRC in Rai who had been in prisoner by Father. Book of Death included Tama and, I didn’t read it, but I think (?) Insurgence did too. I liked Kay and wish she was given more page time. She really only appeared in the 1 A&A arc and then was promptly killed of in The Va...

The Resistance from AWA which was crazy timely and a great set up. Not sure when/if the next issue will drop though. 2 Boom! Series: Something is Killing the Children and Once and Future. I thought both were really good. SIKTC is a horror book and does a great job being creepy as hell. O&F has h...

Re: Did Dynamite ever do any crossover GK3 and not?

I'm thinking did Vampirella ever fight Turok, for instance. Magnus vs Red Sonja? Only thing I know about is the title Gold Key Alliance that had the GK3 cross over with each other. Don't know of anything like your example. /Magnus Was that SOVEREIGNS I read about? Sovereigns and Gold Key Alliance (...

Re: Did Dynamite ever do any crossover GK3 and not?

Dynamite had a steampunk series that had alternate versions of all their main IPs/LPs a while back called Legenderry. I’m pretty sure there was a version of Magnus Robot Fighter (and maybe Turok, too) involved.

Good question, dude. I don't know nothing but good question. Ironically, I'm about 3 pages in to Unity Zero via the TPB. I just read the Unit-Y part. That's a great retcon. Made me almost laugh. I wonder if that was always an idea VEI had. Anyone know? That HS to be straight out of Matt Kindt’s min...

Jim Starlin returning to Dreadstar!

Kickstarter is up now. Here’s an article from newsarama: https://www.newsarama.com/49813-jim-starlin-returns-from-drawing-retirement-for-new-dreadstar-title.html Very exciting news as just a few years ago Starlin thought he would never draw again. Some awesome reward tiers for the Kickstarter, too. ...

Re: John Cena & XO Manowar?

I think this would be a poor choice. Do we even know who is making the choices for DMG casting? I don’t recall anyone being mentioned to help guide a film division yet. Am I wrong? They wouldn’t be producing their own films. These would likely be rights sold to a studio a la Bloodshot at Sony or Ha...

Re: Decision by publishers to suspend digital new releases...

I would counter with:

1. If you’re not printing it, then it’s less overhead and more profit at a time when you aren’t making any money.

2. A lot of these books are already done, they’re just not releasing them.
