Re: What video game are you currently playing?

Final Fantasy VII: Remake which is a damn good game for what is basically a prologue to a larger story. If you're expecting just a 1-1 remake of the original game with new graphics and voice acting then you might want to readjust your expectations going in, you get that but with a lot of new stuff ...

Re: Mark Waid talking Comicsgate.

So it would seem that several antagonists of the comicsgate have declared the movement dead. I hope not - keep on trucking, comicsgate. :thumb: Comicgate was and is a hate group. I don't give a damn if people like me or not but that what it is and I have seen enough of Meyers and company's crap on ...

The Crow started a week after the first hit the theaters and didn't finish it until a week before The Crow: City of Angels came out.

Re: Mark Waid talking Comicsgate.

It’s sad really. This thread is playing out all across the internet in various forums and in offices, living rooms, etc. Granted, they’re not talking comics, but instead cars, gardening, books, etc. The theme is the same though: “The other side is evil.” I’m guilty of it. We’ve made our political p...

Re: Mark Waid talking Comicsgate.

I recommend watching some D&C videos just to see how vicious the comic industry has been to conservatives lately. You claim the comic book is "vicious" to conservatives and I'll save you watching those stupid videos because I'll tell you. Just make sure you really want to know why, be...

Re: Fathom

I've never read this before. I know this was a hot property in the late 90s and I just picked up the "definitive edition" trade which has a lot of content for like $50. I'm about 120 pages into the story. This is very good stuff. Both the art and the story are very compelling, reminds me ...

Re: Jawbreakers: Lost Souls Indiegogo comic

So, World War III is on. That's an understatement. Everyone is acting like *SQUEE*. Let the men publish their comic. Stores are under no obligation to order it, however. Why are people upset? I keep trying to look it up and the explanations I see keep mentioning names like the reader is supposed to...

I don't know about modern issues sales and profits and all that. But the "industry" surrounding "comic books" (really "comic characters") is SUPER strong. Every show I've done for the the last few years I talk to peeps that say, "so...... um, this is my first con ...

Re: Are we in the Post-Modern Age of Comics yet?

Comics from the 1990s are different than comics from the 1980s. Comics from the 2000s are different than comics from the 1990s. We don't need to debate specific starting points for "Ages", since the medals/metals are a dumb idea that ends at Bronze anyway. We don't need to thematically tr...

Re: What's Bendis writing at DC?

I'm not 100% sure on this but Action Comics #1000 is not his first work for DC. I THINK he wrote and drew a story in one of the Batman: Black and White mini-series that was an homage to Citizen Kane, but don't hold me to it.

Re: State of the comic book market

It would be interesting to compare comics to video games, which started a digital shift before comics. Are stores like GameStop still doing pretty well, and do a lot of people still prefer actual copies of the games they can trade or sell? I used to pay a lot of attention to stuff like this and I a...

Re: State of the comic book market

I would say that physical comics, TPBs, and hardcovers are dying out due to price, availability, and general storage with digital comics being cheaper, easier to find, and taking a lot less space. I think between 5-10 years most, if not all, physical comics will be specialty items sold online to &qu...

Re: The Devil's Thread: Matt Wagner's Grendel

I saw a preview for the omni online and the pages looked awful, when compared to the OG stuff. Then I rented it and was actually relieved that I must have seen a low-resolution/altered image. That preview had a sort of pink-tone all over, really uninspired. But the omni looks great, and even if it'...
