They literally press the comic to remove any small defects that may keep a 9.6 from being a 9.8 or other small grading differences that can add up to big money sometimes.

Did this ever get re-listed?

After hearing what he had to say about visual story telling, comic lay out, and being "designy" in an old interview, NO WAY.

To say nothing of what I have seen (or have not seen) in his comics.

I think the story telling aspect of the art is key to being a great comic artist.
