Re: X #12. Is this ever an awesome book or what

I was only getting this book out of nostalgia for the old series. And sales on the dark horse digital site. But I have to admit the series is picking up and starting to find its voice. Still not a huge fan of the regular artist. But it's fine. Yep. The original artist on the first series was just a...

Re: X #12. Is this ever an awesome book or what

X has been awesome and I never once considered dropping it. The character and title is every bit as fun as the original run. The 21 days story made for an interesting bit of pacing. It's clear they wanted to kick the timeline down the road a bit in order to show for some evolution of all main curre...

Re: The comic industry overall

My biggest point is that the boom in the 90s was a classic boom, not true growth. Real growth is seldom rapid and large, but slow and steady. There are waves. If we suddenly saw #'s like that-and I am not saying we will, or that I think we will-then I would be concerned. Any sudden growth like that ...

Re: The comic industry overall

I agree with you here. But..... If I worked for Marvel or DC, I don't know if you could ever get the sales you had Back in the early 90s, but I think the comic characters might be more Popular now then back then. It would just take someone very creative to Turn the movie and TV and video game fans ...

It's interesting. You ask different people this question and can always tell the people who have the national picture in mind. Those are the ones who don't whine about how the sky is falling. Otherwise, you are apt to encounter people who, because their small and mismanaged shop isn't doing well in ...

Re: Captain America #100 found at a flea market

I once saw a copy of Rai 3 at a flea market. The guy didn't have a price, so I was going to walk away. He brought out an ancient volume of Overstreet, and said "that'll be 50 dollars"...there was a tear at the top corner of the book and a crease along the spine. Flea Markets are not the pl...

Re: Putting a small plug for Valiant onto Wikipedia, re: A&A

Wikipedia has gotten a lot more strict over the past couple years. Happily, much of my work on Ghost & X, from the original runs over at Dark Horse, remain. I've been tempted to do some stuff for VEI's work, but since the tools got reworked, I've not bothered to learn them and so I don't do any ...

Harbinger or Archer & Armstrong. I think it's very likely to be Harby, which is apparently set, along with XO, for at least another year and a half of stories. That takes both books to the late 30's, early 40s. The big question is, will any of these books ever hit 100?
