Re: Toys of the 80s
I had a Rock Lord. I don't know how or where I got it, but I never knew what it was and thought it was the stupidest thing ever. A transformer that turns from a robot into a... rock? Oh, yay, how exciting. Maybe the other Transformers can pick it up and throw it at something. I remember M.U.S.C.L.E....

Re: DISCUSSION: Armor Hunters #3
Is there a thread to discuss the Armor Hunters event as a whole? I couldn't find one. All I could find was the individual issue threads. Anyway, I'm really enjoying this event as a whole. My only complaint is that some issues seem out of sequence (if going by the checklist on the in-house advertisem...

Re: CBCS verifies old signature books...
I've got the Hunger Dogs GN signed by Kirby. That's too big to fit in a slab. I wonder how something like that would work.
Part of me says that if my kids want to sell this stuff when I'm dead, they can bother with the verification then!

I wonder what pricing is. And if Steve Ditko is an autograph they can authenticate.

I'm so upset. I wanted this book bad and was willing to go $35. My internet connection crapped out in the last two minutes of the auction.

Other than the USS FLAGG, this was the vehicle I dreamed about having the most. I have one now, and I don't remember where I got it, but it's missing almost everything. Just an empty shell. Makes me sad to look at it.

I'd be happy with a full Shadowman reboot. Sadly, it's the only Valiant title so far I've stopped reading.

Re: Armor Hunters #1 Discussion
I finally got to read it and, while I liked it... It just didn't seem like VALIANT to me. The character design, the artistic style, pretty much everything about it feels more like DC to me (not DC-lite, just regular DC). I enjoyed the book, but it just didn't have that Valiant feel to me.

The Houston Con (formerly Space City Con) is a really well run convention.
I have a friend who says he will never return to Dallas Comic Con because of the way they treated people in costumes. I don't know the story behind it, though.

Re: I think I have a Bloodshot #0 Platinum variant.....
So i took it to two different local comic book stores and got a very different answer. The first one i went to i had the owner tell me it was a regular chromium version and was worth about $2. I asked about the price not being in the corner and he said that was normal for the regular version and it...

Armstrong is voiced by John Goodman.
Woody is voiced by Joel McHale (and should be played by him in the movie).

It is an awesome issue. From what I've heard, it wasn't originally intended to be "silent." The letterer was late, or something was wrong with the letters and it was going to make the book late. But, they decided it really didn't need words and it worked "silent" so they went to...

So I guess I'm alone (or in a minority) in loving the second arc? I hated the first arc and was very close to stopping reading it when #5 changed my mind. Yeah, there were a LOT of loose ends still left at the end, but I feel like, had the book continued, the story would have come back around to tho...
