Re: officially only valiant
VEI is the only company I buy everything, but I also buy quite a few Dark Horse titles (DHP, Hellboy universe, Project Black Sky, The Massive). I also pick up a few Image titles (Saga, Stray Bullets, Manifest Destiny). I don't buy any DC or Marvel titles currently, but I am planning to pick up the n...

Re: Project Black Sky
I am enjoying this universe as much as i am VEI's. X is at the top of my read list every month.
That being said i haven't enjoyed the last few issues of Ghost. Not digging the art. I keep having flashbacks to the issue she drew of Eternal Warrior.

Good thread imho. I was reading release order up through the second month, but then i got busy and haven't kept up. Now i am ready to read the whole thing through, but not sure about the order. Would definitely be curious about opinions.

Re: What needs to work in Eternal Warrior??
I enjoyed both arcs, although i was a little disappointed there wasn't more to the confrontation with the nergal death cult. I enjoyed Hairsine's art and was also a little disappointed they needed a fill in artist for a few pages in issue 4. I enjoyed Gill's work in the second arc and was really ple...

Still sucks that Marvel and DC aren't doing this.
Hopefully the do decide to go DRM free. Right now, from the books i have, only Image titles have offered this.

I don't think you are missing anything as it relates to Valiant by not reading them. Overall i enjoyed the Dark Horse versions, but the stories were very, very similar to the old Valiant books. No real new ground was broken.

Re: Armor Hunters - Bloodshot 1
I LOVED this issue. This feels like the return of the bloodshot from Duane Swierczynski's run. Hairsine is the best Bloodshot artist since Manual Garcia IMHO. This was also the best Armor Hunters book i have read so far, but that is somewhat faint praise because i haven't really liked the event so f...

Re: Bagged and Boarded?
The bags are mainly to keep as much air out as possible. Boards are simply a way to make the bagged comic more sturdy for handling purposes. Note that mylar bags aren't just better for looks, they are also way better at preventing air/moisture from interacting with your comics. Polybags are not actu...

That's a shame. X has been great so far. I haven't really enjoyed the second Ghost series. Captain Midnight has been decent as well.BugsySig wrote:

Some good moments though that highlight how good Matt Kindt is as a writer. The Gilad flashback and Ninjak with the cherry blossom were very subtle, but gave some great insight into the characters' thought processes. Agree. It was a quick read, but enjoyed it. Loved the insights you mentioned as we...

Re: The FALL of VALIANT--NOW WITH MORE POLL!
I went with Q2. I am enjoying the "new" VEI comic, but seeing a continuation of an older series has me really intrigued. :hm: I will also admit one of my favorite things that VEI has published, to date, was the new Vanhook/Perlin story added to the "Valiant Masters" Bloodshot har...

After all the buildup i was hoping for a miniseries or at least a full story arc from Nord. Only one issue after all this time? He must draw like one page a week.

Just caught up to the latest issue of X. I didn't realize until this issue that Dark Horse was going to incorporate The Mark into their superhero universe, but i am glad they are. It will be interesting to see how it goes (and if he gets his own comic again eventually).

Love the art, but its a reminder to me of what a huge mistake it was to take him off Shadowman. He was born to draw that comic.
