Yeah, good examples are high print valiant number ones like Turok#1 with 9.8 grades. These things were made to last, if people make the effort to get them graded the 9.8 will lose it's appeal and won't trade for much. The 9.8 will not lose it's appeal... It's the book that will lose it's appeal. :)...

Very well stated, it's just like any other market, each has it's perpeptual booms and busts - one necessitates the other. We have to keep in mind that logic is not correlated to emotion (greed). If you want a ridiculous example, consider the dutch tulip craze of the 1600s.

I really can't see a decline from the back issues in prices....just looking at the print runs alone - some golds are selling at $5/piece, with print runs of 5,000 made. Do you think prices can go any lower than that? Two things will happen: the company will fail, collectors will look to the old line...

Yup. Maybe Don was lazy that day and figured that he could reduce his signature energy output by 16.7% by dropping the 'R'. Who knows. It is almost tempting to buy the comic just to see the signature closer... /Magnus PS, for more shame look at his other auctions. He's stolen Greg's format without ...

I just got a 9.6 graded harbinger pink for 42.00. Not bad considering the last one went for 56 and just before that a 9.4 went for 66. This book (at least graded at 9.4 and 9.6) has been taking a little slide lately. It's strange. People will pay 50-70 for a raw copy of this book from seller who ma...

Seriously, does that guy know something that we don't? Do you think it's far fetched for a collector interested in purely investment books would pay $175.00 for a book that has gone for $1500.00 in the past? CGC doesn't cost THAT much. No, but as previously mentioned i think that price was ridiculo...

Plus I would think it much easier to find a foil cover book in a CGC 9.8 condition since it's not as fragile. Yep, the CGC census numbers show that the chromium covers are predominantly CGC 9.8s. Tough to damage those puppies. Yeah no kidding. I got a bloodshot#1 propping up one of the legs of my f...
