It was a meeting/party. You were invited, but you didn't show up :?

Re: Here comes the Newb! Introduction thread?!? Here? Why?

Interesting choice. I have in the past described my skill set as worthy of a Bond villain. I thought I would wait for a lab accident to try my hand at supervillainy, though. I chloroformed myself in the lab once. Forgot to use the vent hood. No superpowers though, so that sucked. I used enough carc...

Release dates

I'm sure this isn't the best place to post this question, but I couldn't find a better one. (Move it wherever you see fit, Greg.) Does anyone know of a good phone app/computer program/website/etc. that lets you plug in comics you're following and get their release dates? With the Valiant relaunch re...

Re: Starman by James Robinson and Tony Harris

I thought the Starman run was good straight through. They read alot better when skipping those "Shade & the Time's Past" standalone annuals they would stick in every 8 issues. Those would slow the pace down. I couldn't get into James Robinson's recent superhero work after that though (Superman...Ju...

Re: Am I the only one who doesn't care about variant covers?

As far as the variants go, I would love to have them all, but have no intention of putting out that much cash just for different covers. I'm sure the ones I really like, I'll try to pick up at a later time, but for now I'm just happy I have Valiant stories to read. I did run out to get a X-O #1 2nd ...

Re: Neil Gaiman writing new Sandman in 2013

There is definitely a wide scale comic industry plot to part me from my money. First, I just happen to read about Valiant's return several months ago, which gets me into the LCS and keeping up with comic book news for the first time in about 10 years. I also spend lots trying to finish up my VH1 col...

Re: Disappointing trip to the LCS - re: Bloodshot 1 & Harbin

I have two LCS in my area. I only really go to one - the other has staff that know nothing and are very rude (from my few encounters), although I did get my X-O #1 2nd print there. My regular LCS is always staffed by the owner - I think he must live there - and he's awesome. I raided his bargain box...

Mine was at the front door when I got home from work. Great condition and awesome packing job. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Didn't realize I was so close to you, Greg. I'm just north of Memphis. Which makes me even closer to dbngaa, I would guess.

Re: Valiant? How about... NEW. YORK. TIMES!!!

We've had four X-Men movies made about a team of super heroes. Factor in too the recent Chronicles about a group of under-20's who have telekinetic powers. Again, somewhat played out at the moment. Don't forget the forgettable Push from a few years ago. I understand that was Harbinger-lite. I liked...

Re: X-O #1 Manowar 2nd print finds

Just picked mine up today. Pretty good quality. I'll never sell it though, so it doesn't really matter. I can't bring myself to pay the amount the variants are pulling in, but this one I had to get, both for the awesome cover and the fact that it seems to be hard to get. I would like to have both th...

As I just recently posted in another thread (concerning obtaining an Amazing Spiderman #149 before it shot up in price), the experience (even with the accumulation of the collection) is what makes it fun for me. I was so glad when I found this forum 2 years ago when I had some time off work (in betw...

Re: X-O #1 Manowar 2nd print finds

My regular LCS is sold out. He didn't say how many he received, but another store nearby had some, so I had them hold one for me. I tend to not hoard (I know I could sell some in the future for profit) but I would rather make copies available at cover price for other's like me. Of course, I'm not sc...
