Things started going downhill after Jim left. I thought it was just ok for a while after that. I had high hopes for "Birthquake" because I liked the names associated with the books. However, as it turned out, "Birthquake" was the "final nail in the coffin."

But wouldn't combining all those different strands and origins of powers stretch the very thing that VALIANT had working for it - internal consistency underscoring credibility? Let me expound on my idea... The three universes would meet together in a kind of "lost land". The Valiant chara...

Jim Shooter back in control. First released issues would be a new "Unity" that establishes a universe with characters from V1, Defiant & Broadway. Then let Jim lead the way...

I liked everything X-O, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd pick the early classic issues. They clearly had the best stories.

I owned a comic store in the early 90's so I have everything Valiant put out. I eventually sold some of the issues & titles I didn't like. I also got everything in the VH2 line...but I threw away most of it

Does anybody know what Jim Shooter is doing these days? Any chance of him trying a new (or old) comic company again? I would love to see him return. His stuff was the best IMHO

Thanks for clearing that up for me "KV"! I owned a comic book store back at the time, and one day this guy came in and told me that he had heard...blah blah blah. I also found it hard to believe, but to this day I always wondered if he was right. Thanks again for the info!

Someone told me once that "The Visitor" was suppose to be Archer but that many readers figured it out, and so the Valiant ptb changed their minds at the last minute and made him to be Peter. Does anyone know if this story is true or not?
