Re: VALIANT Heroes Whose Futures Were Not Shown in Rai #0

Others might. You do bring up an interesting point about the Spider Aliens. Rai #0 didn't cover how the threat they posed to Earth was neutralized. Since the Armorines didn't exist at the time, it would have fallen to X-O Manowar to take them out, but that one-shot only really showed how he died an...

Re: VALIANT Heroes Whose Futures Were Not Shown in Rai #0

Sure, but what we do know about the events chronicled in Rai #0 can inform what those futures might be. For instance, presumably Ninjak's story ends with a final battle against Dr. Silk. Maybe something like the last battle between Holmes and Moriarty even. Ok, but what in Rai 0 informs us about th...

Looks like the exact same pencils that Branch inked, wonder if it was a try-out or Ivy re-did the inks after Branch's were rej...

Re: VALIANT Heroes Whose Futures Were Not Shown in Rai #0

There's Ninjak, Timewalker, the Armorines, Doctor Mirage, the Secret Weapons (either iteration), and Turok (he had a sort of cameo from his later appearance in Secret Weapons #1, but we don't really know what happened to him). Any theories? I doubt any of the original writers had many plans past th...

Re: RIP Don Perlin

Joe Petrilak's interview with Don (september '95): Great interview, thanks for sharing. Ditko was another one whose love for comics came from reading the first Batman comics. They shared some similarities with their approach to storytelling as well. Meat and potatoes is a good description. Don was ...

Re: RIP Don Perlin

As a kid I didn't think his art was 'pretty' enough. As an adult I've grown to appreciate his storytelling ability and the way he was able to draw complex scenes in a way that made them easy to read. Way ahead of most Image artists that respect. In hindsight, I think Bloodshot 1-17 hold up as among ...

Ryan Cady - The new writer of The Valiants kicking off the new Valiant Universe! I can't see YouTube, any chance of a summary or what new info was revealed? Can't recall offhand, but I don't think it was anything overtly specific. Just overall excitement hyping the importance of the story. K, thanks

Re: Magnus 1 pages on Heritage

Outbid again, but did come closer than usual. Final price with fees was 3120 for two pages from issue 1. Compared to some previous auctions I guess this could even be considered a good price. I wish I had picked up more pages way back when the prices were lower. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-c...

Fright Krewe An ancient prophecy and a Voodoo Queen put misfit teens in charge of saving New Orleans from the biggest demonic threat it’s faced in almost two centuries. But, honestly? Saving the world might be easier than becoming friends. Season One Trailer This cartoon is what I imagine a Shadowm...

Re: Let’s settle this once and for all …BEST VALIANT EVENT!

I think Unity benefitted from being the culmination of a young, developing line of comics, and one that was plotted with the Unity crossover in mind. Starting from (almost) scratch, continuity wise, fewer than 60 issues built up to a wide-ranging, eight-title crossover. That kind of planning kept l...

Re: ♦———♦——— Valiant Comics Timeline ———♦———♦

Holy Moses! Im a bit speechless about what Im looking at here. You must know more about timeline than nearly anyone else, no??? :o So, my thoughts were this: Has anyone ever taken the time to go panel by panel to recreate the UNITY saga to have it all in chronological order and not have panels repe...

Re: Valiant Universe Chronology - 20th Century - Vol. 1 & 2

Thanks for the bump on this :) As I was reading through my VCS UNITY book, I noticed there is a lot of overlap and bouncing back and forth.. I was wishing that I didn't have to reread those parts and could just read through in as a linear story. Any thoughts about scanning pages or panels into a fo...

Re: VALIANT DARQUE - a fan fiction concept

Thanks very much, man! I will be inking it but I appreciate hearing that. I aim for fairly tight pencils ahead of doing inks usually. I have to say, while I personally absolutely love the Spitfire series, I'm in the minority of New U fans for that. It only lasted 13 issues before being cancelled af...

Re: VALIANT DARQUE - a fan fiction concept

Fair warning, this is a relatively boring page as far as subject matter goes - just some dialogue scenes. I kinda wince whenever I look at some of these panels.
