Joe Q on the return of Speculators

NRAMA: Every once is a while, we ask you if you’re noticing any industry trends that you feel are important or noteworthy, either good or bad. Anything happening lately that’s caught your attention? JQ: Yes. Two recent things caught my attention, they both thrilled me and scared the hell out of me. ...

Re-Reading: Armed & Dangerous Special

I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if so...

There are people who collect phone cards. It used to be a fad. I wonder if a phone card collector would give more for these? Kinda like a toy collector might give more than us for the X-O action figure prototype. I would say these cards are worth at least $25-$50 each, if they are one of a kind. Th...

Solar statue is pretty sweet

Okay, so I've had my Solar statue for a few days now and I'm loving it. It sits on my desk next to my computer so everytime I look away I see it. Its so cool to finally see a valiant character in 3D :D The statue is a little smaller and lighter than I would have hoped but detail is pretty good. Brin...

Any idea on values? Sami The oversized sting card is hard to find and probably worth $20 The other assorted promos and chase cards are worth $1-5 each The deathmate uncut is around $50-75, these don't come up often so its hard to say. I could be really off with this one. Psi-Lords flat is $10ish. W...

Big change in Eddy right from the get go. I didn't like it but as the story progressed it made sense.

Kind of a filler issue that keeps us guessing about the real killer.

I've read an interview with Busiek where he mentions what they had planned. I remember thinking they had some really great ideas in store. I think it was Ryan's original transcript from his VALIANT DAYS VALIANT NIGHTS article. It might be hosted somewhere on this site.

This issue we find out where the book is going - vengence. We've all heard stories about kids shooting themselves with thier dads gun. Bob uses this to great effect, not making the scene too long by explaining things and using the idea as a way to get eddy 'armed & dangerous' (couldnt resist) &q...
