I reckoned it came from the store's quarter bin, most of those books had black markers in the top box so not to confuse them with r...

Re: More Mile High Nonsense...

I really wish I understood why I fall for Chuckie's tricks....he's got this Newdeal nonsense going on, and boldly proclaims how "prices are lower than at any point in the last five years.".... Except they're not. Harbinger #1 - $60 NM That's 2-4 TIMES the going eBay rate. 3 years ago, Har...

After a too short night (again) the show re-opened on Sunday morning at 10.30am. The line waiting in front of the expo hall was almost as long as the previous day. The amount of visitors was roughly these same as on saturday, with a little more families with children compared to Saturday. The last t...

I quite like the look of most of them, at least the Marvel ones. Annih: Prologue and the Civil War sketch covers look great.

Bristol comic expo report

Hi All, Came back from the convention on Monday night, absolutely wasted, not due to alcohol, but walking around the whole hall and the city for four days. The convention unofficially started on Friday night with a movie night. It was supposed to start at 7.30pm. When I arrived at tthe Plaza hotel w...

FUnny think, I found it at a store that normally asks ridiculously high prices for (hot) comics. Sort of Mile High prices without sale reductions :p

Shadowman V2 #1 Special Edition which one rarer?

I know that there are two editions of the special edition, a regular and small size version. Is there any info which version is more common?

btw: I found the small version yesterday for $5 in vf condition :D

I have a bag that is kind of like a laptop bag with a couple dividers and several pockets for things. It is alot like the convention bag svair released only a little bigger with more pockets. I was considering doing that as well. They tend to be pretty sturdy. Only problem is that sometimes you can...

Convention gear?

Hey all, The convention season is already up and running. One problem you might run across while hitting the back issue boxes and stalking creators is what you take along with you to transport the material you buy. I'll be going to the Bristol Comic Expo in a week and a half and I'm thinking of buyi...

that's sweet that you've been to our store! while the ped mall is a good place for bars/restaurants/etc. it's become bad for retail businesses. on our block, there are only 4 retail stores, one of which is going out of business. we are moving one block east and 1 1/2 blocks north, which will put us...

Where are you moving to, I did not think the store was in a bad place in the ped mall. Could have been worse, could have been on the second floor of the old capital mall :p

Anyway, good luck.

Dublin comic and toy convention

There was a small convention on Saturday. Small means two 20 by 12 feet. Despite the amount of room there were even 2 guests, Michael Caroll, the creator of Streets of Dublin, which will also be released in the US in the next coupleof weeks/months, and noone other than Glenn Fabry. I got a sketch by...

I am biased towards Keith Giffen. Though I am not that familiar with his classic Justice League stuff, I grew up with and loved Giffen's otherwise very, very unpopular run writing the volume 4 "adult Legion" with the Bierbaums, in the days when the team was all thirtysomething, unshaven a...

Sketch/signature books

Hey All,

I am planning to buy book for sketches and signatures to take with me to some comicons. What kind of book/size/quality and type of paper do you guys (and girls) normally use for this? To be clear, it is not for my own drawings (by god no) but for attending creators.

Thanks,

Bo

I'd have to check for that blue sharpee, but I think it is in black. It is quite likely that they were send off as promotional material to the store as they used to be known for having a lot of limited material, I also bought a couple retailer reviews there for a shameless amount :) about a year ago.
