Re: 2020 CGC Registry Awards

The point value for variants is also wacky. VEI variants are no different in value than regular issues. I always thought it was that the creation of new sets with moderns that every book got the base 24 pts and just stayed at 24 pts indefinitely until a request was submitted to change the score. I ...

Re: Lobo's CGC submission thread

After a very lengthy pause in submissions, I decided to rush out 25 moderns along with some emergency reslabbing books at the beginning of June. Managed to get some Valiants in this bunch and all were "natural" 9.8s that didn't need the pressing treatment. It's been awhile since I had all 25 books c...

Re: Case of 100 Deathmate books on eBay

I don’t know what shocks me more that the shipping is $40 bucks or somebody still has a case of these books https://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-of-100-Deathmate-Yellow-plus-2-Gold-Comic-Books-Valiant-Image-1993-/131683739520 Full cases of early 90s drek is still very common. Re: Case of 100 Deathmate books on eBay

10 cases! Shipping is $76 for me, which is nutso! I know a guy with a case of 500 X-O 0s or something along those lines. He bought them new and it's still sealed. He just can't bring himself to sell them at a reasonable price. Yeah but what is a reasonable price to you? Less than 50 cents a copy? H...

Re: Was everyone sleeping on this?

9.8 slabs may be the default for modern slab collecting but I'm surprised people would turn up their noses at a 9.6 of a book that is next to impossible to find raw never mind in grade. Check the census, there is only one 9.8 and 4 9.6s out of 14 books graded. Holding out for a 9.8 may be forever an...

Re: Was everyone sleeping on this?

I haven't checked ComicLink in a while. I would have definitely drove that price higher. If the buyer is interested in making a profit, pm me. Agreed - I never really follow ComicLink auctions - that's definitely a case where being the only one to see the auction paid off well. It's also a case of ...

These are neat, although I already have a rack in my shed not being used! Do I dare look and see how much shipping to Canada would be? [emoji28] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I went through the checkout, shipping $159 to my Canadian address. Total $528 which means about a $750+ CDN (with taxes...

Re: Your Quarantine Experience?

Quarantine has been an easy adjustment for me and my spouse. Thankfully we live in a city that has had low numbers of infections/deaths so the overall mood has not been grim. I continue to work but I have much more time for home 'projects' getting done The big news is that I found a used heat press ...

Re: EBAY: CGC 9.4 Bloodshot #0 Platinum (Not Mine)

That is fascinating. What does yours look like condition-wise? The edges of mine are immaculate, but there is one small bend on the back of the spine that isn’t visible on the front. Mine is pretty sharp. The chromium cover very slight curls up at the corners when lying flat but no other 'defects' ...

The fact you have the Davis art but can’t find the book reminds when Christopher was looking for that Bloodshot v...

Re: EBAY: CGC 9.4 Bloodshot #0 Platinum (Not Mine)

I bought it and received it today. It’s my second platinum. The first one I have is a also raw but has no issues with the chromium from a layering perspective. This one has the same strange chromium issue on the front as the back cover. It is just more pronounced on the front cover, but if you open...

Re: EBAY: CGC 9.4 Bloodshot #0 Platinum (Not Mine)

Received a notice that the raw platinum book sold. Funny, I don't usually get those for items I am watching, but don't buy. Anyway, thought I'd drop a note here. I don't think it sold, the seller told me he will end the auction early. He wasn't overly keen to sell and is looking to get the book sen...

Re: EBAY: CGC 9.4 Bloodshot #0 Platinum (Not Mine)

Saw that too. Does something look off with this Plat to you? I have a CGC 8.5, and have seen others, but the distortion in the logo doesn't seem to be consistent with the others. Kind of curious (and suspect) as to why it hasn't been graded. I think this book is legit. I have a raw copy that looks ...

Re: McFarlane Bloodshot figure prototype at NYCC!

Looks like “Powder” on Steroids. I’ve been waiting for real, posable action figures for years, but I’m not interested in movie tie-ins. I don’t need my Hulk to look like Lou Ferigno and I don’t need my Bloodshot to look like Vin Diesel. YOU don't need a Vin Diesel look-a-like but potential new fans...
