SHAX!!! COME BACK!!! If you do, I PROMISE I'll send you the Infinity Gauntlet set I've been promising to send you for....(looks at watch)....about three years now! COME BACK!!! Hey Zeph! Wow. I sure am tempted to come back and post more (always am), but Valiant is so far from my mind these days, an...

Good point.

Okay, we're looking at shipping two 23.5 lb boxes. Media mail to most places in the US would be about $25.

Giving away partial collection: pre-unity, incentives, etc.

Edit: Found a buyer. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, Long time no see. I've begun to fall off the Valiant bandwagon as of late, and am looking to make more room in my collection. I'm really not looking to make anything off of this sale. Make me an offer (any o...

Wow. Who has the time?

I've read everything up to Unity and (I guess) a lot of post-unity, but certainly nowhere near everything.

It was right around the time of Harbinger #25 for me. The company was pumping out all of these new titles (most of which intertwined with the older titles in some way), and I just felt like I didn't have the energy to keep up. Deathmate was in progress (I think), and I mistakenly believed that Secre...

Great art, but the whole premise just seems a little too silly for me.

There's actually a reprint of issue 1 they did back in 2000 for the "millenium editions" that's worth next to nothing. Unfortnately, I don't think the same is true of issue 2 which features the first appearance of Deathstroke. Did they ever come out with an affordable trade paperback of t...

Secret Wars was the answer to Crisis on Infinite Earths (or was that vice versa?).

Interestingly, the final issue of Secret War hit the stands at about the same time as issue #2 of Infinite Crisis, though it would just be pathetic to compare the two.

Dr. Fate (1980s) 1-24: weird, interesting stuff delivered in unpredictable ways. New Teen Titans/ Tales of the Teen Titans (1980s) - nearly the entire run, but especially 30-44. Major character/ inter-character synergy and development. The first two issues will cost you lots, but the rest are often ...

Whatever happened to Showcase Sealers?

Diamond Distributors hasn't carried them for years and no one seems to talk about them anymore. I just recently bought a few and thought they were great for displaying my best issues. Now I'm concerned that there's something terribly wrong with them. I know they don't offer UV protection but, assumi...

Considering all the great costumes he's had over the years, that one's just ridiculous. I'd much rather see him back in the black costume (sans symbiote) or that chrome silver one.

Where to go for comic book collecting talk?

Hey guys, I've been looking for a good forum for fans of vintage comics and thought you guys might have some suggestions. I'm not interested in investment, grading, or current events talk too much. I just want to shoot the breeze about collecting old mid-grade issues for the love of it. Any suggesti...

See, I would do it for some of my silver age runs, like Batman, Doctor Strange, Silver Surfer, House of Mystery, Swamp Thing, Teen Titans and X-Men, but I think I'd grow to regret the loss of resale value. I think I'd buy a straight run of just about anything vintage in a bound collection though.

That's why I'd rather buy a set that's already been done (hopefully for less than guide price since it's technically "ruined"). I don't think I could bring myself to ruin them myself.

What ever happened to the old bindary editions?

I don't know if you guys recall this, but back in the old days of collecting before bags and boards became common, there were professional services that offered to bind a run of your favorite comics into a handsome leatherbound book edition. Whatever happened to these volumes? They'd technically be ...

Selling a LOT of good stuff! 20% off, free shipping

Hey guys, I'm trying to make some room in my collection, and thought I'd try unloading some of my doubles. There's a lot of good stuff in here (pre-unity, final issues, dealer incentives, etc), and a few sleepers as well. Each issue is 20% off current vc.com guide price . In the case of non-NM issue...

Never heard of a "married" book before. Good to know. Needless to say, I won't be doing that with my #181. I'm an opportunist, but I'm not dishonest.

Incidentally, when inspecting a potential purchase, how can you tell if it's been married?

(Not ethical, but you knew that). I wouldn't have asked if I did. The reason I ask is that you're still giving them the complete original comic. It's just coming from two different sources. Does that really change its worth? I guess if CGC can catch it, then yes, it affects its worth and is therefo...
