Re: Record price for Turok Game?

What's "Buyer's Premium"? Is this just another (weird) term for the fee that goes to HA? Yes /Magnus An item that sells through Heritage Auctions tends to give 29% to Heritage, and 71% to the seller. Here's how: The item ends at $1,000. Heritage pays the seller $850 because the seller pays 15% to H...

Re: Valiant fan Scott Sahle (doodlebird) had a stroke - his family is selling his books

There will be some ebay sales here coming up this weekend (Sunday - Sunday), if I can remember, I will post them here. Thinking Greg walked away with a prize the other day, such a great pick-up on that X-O #25 variant! Think a simple cleaning/press makes that book a 9.8! I just wanted to get things...

Re: Record price for Doctor Solar 1?

I have a few mid-grade CGC copies purchased 10 to 15 years ago.

I don't know how I got my lowest CGC graded copy for $83 shipped in 2018, but I did:

If I could find 10 more at that price, I'd buy them all.

Re: Record price for Doctor Solar 1?

The record price is actually from 2007, when the CGC 9.6 sold for $7,500.

This is definitely a record price for CGC 9.4 at $6,600. The prior record for CGC 9.4 was $5,205 in 2018.

Re: Valiant Continuity Bible.. where is it?

Obviously, feelings were going to be hurt no matter how this played out, and they were. It has been a while since the subject of the VCB has come up... I think. :hm: Didn't the one who had actually made the copies then get banned from here?!? I remember reading something like this on the CGC forum;...

Re: DBS’s “VEI Top 10” - August 2020

I bought a 9.4: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154047686227 Are you going to cross it over to a CGC slab or leave it as CBCS? I'm not sure yet. I'll have to look at it. I know that pressing is not likely an option, but not sure exactly what the defects are. I've not found CBCS to be consistent with CGC, ...

Re: CGC can grade the Unity Diamond trades now...

Interesting but shouldn’t they be in green qualified labels. Aren’t they all signed on the inside by the Creative team? Signatures inside books get blue labels. Signatures on the outside of books get green labels. I never knew that. That is rather disappointing to learn. So an otherwise prefect 9.8...

Re: CGC can grade the Unity Diamond trades now...

Definately an impressive item to have slabbed. I'm not surprised that it sold so quickly. Are there other examples of CGC grading bound volumes? Maybe nitpicking, but I'm a bit bothered that the text says that the story is collected FROM various books when it is the books themselves that have been ...

CGC can grade the Unity Diamond trades now...

Looks like CGC now has cases large enough to grade the Unity Diamond trades (two-volume set):

A CGC 9.6 set, recently graded, just sold for $700.

All the other Nintendo books are likely $5 books if raw.
Collectors aren't very knowledgeable about these books, but they generally understand "first issues", so the behavior that I have seen is that popular characters (Mario, Link/Zelda) with a #1 on the cover often sell for $10 to $25.
