Really liked this one.

Agree. And it was fun to see my shelf with penguins on the screen :)

About the discussion of the apparent sex of the Malev emperor - he took over the body that Grandmother and 1-A had created for their combined consciousness.

Re: Interview with Bob Layton

Agreed. I very much enjoyed the interview and hearing about Bob's time at Valiant. He seems to really enjoy life. Living a life in a Korean apartment for next to nothing (I couldn't quite catch his rent price), walking around town and buying his food for the day, etc. I liked that life as well in ...

Re: Interview with Bob Layton

That was a fun watch. Thanks for posting.

It is interesting to hear the way everyone interacted during VH1. Such as, Bob Layton bringing Barry-Windsor-Smith onboard (even though BWS did not want to work directly with Shooter). And… how Layton and BWS basically wrote Archer & Armstrong while ...

Re: Magnus 8 Interior Page - $800

Those early Rai pages are just full of action and violence. This level of violence was not seen in Marvel and DC at the time. One of the many things that made Valiant so unique and memorable. Here are 3 pages in sequence:

Rai #2 page 2. Pencilled by Joe St Pierre, inked by Charles Barnett III ...

Re: Eternal Warrior Axe

I love my axe. I don't have it on display, because I don't trust my kids.

I've bought and sold a few (I had three at one point).

I think I bought one at a shop for $200!

Cool. I had contacted Valiant HQ a few years ago to see if they had one lying around but they didnt :(

I was able to ...

Congrats on the grades. Sucks on the Rai though. Who knows on that crease, I've had CGC detach my cover from the comic and not own up to it.

Re: Jay Jay interview and Valiant/Defiant talk

One thing I was thinking about from the interview, I'm actually a fan of the old Valiant house style.

I liked that even what would be considered the 'worst' art from pre-Unity would still always meet a baseline level of solid and clear storytelling with proportions that were 'on model' with the ...
