Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins

And then I see this....and it reminds me of this whole mess.... It makes a good point... not the whole point, but a good one... FB_IMG_1660400143072.jpg Apart from being a great movie, Aliens happened without any agenda or intended audience political manipulation. So whilst I see the point being ma...

Re: Layoffs & Resignations Leave VALIANT’s Future in Doubt

https://www.cbr.com/valiant-cancels-archer-armstrong-cuts-back-one-release-per-month-schedule/ Archer is done at 4, then moving to one book a month with the new mature Bloodshot in September through December. Book of Shadows returns in January, followed by the new XO. Nothing about Ninjak, which was...

Armorclads Prologue

I noticed that there was a press release regarding a digital Armorclads Prologe. Did anyone get it? I am not following the NFT stuff, but I'd be interested in knowing what I would need to do to get a copy. I'm not looking to bash Valiant for NFTs, but is there a way to buy a copy somewhere? From wha...

Re: Expanded Reading Order

I've updated it since then. Its unfortunate that nearly all of the DMG stories are standalone, and the stories aren't referenced in other books. They try so hard to be easy for first time readers that there isn't a mystery to them that would encourage readers to look at the Valiant catalog. I really...

Re: Valiant's problem with royalties

From what i understand, Dysart was saying that he had a verbal agreement that basically amounted to "if we do well, you'll do well." Assuming that same structure, I don't see anything glaring on why he should receive royalties or that those royalties would be material. Artistically, he did...

Re: Valiant's problem with royalties

I get Dysart's anger at Valiant, as he redefined the whole Harbinger universe and built the first real VEI crossover. But I have no idea what Tom Fowler did that would warrant getting royalties. I would argue that Priest and Bright have a much bigger claim on anything from Quantum and Woody, and Fow...

Re: Harbinger 1 Facsimile Edition - Kowabunga Comics Exclusive

If you go to the ordering page, you'll see that the price is different and that instead of a Canada price, it has the Teen rating. This is very similar to the Marvel and DC reprints that have recently been released. I wouldn't be worried about people passing these off as the real thing. That said, I...

Re: New Exec Editor at Valiant and a promised new direction!

What does this have to do with Rob Levin? :? This universe was envisioned in late 2018/early 2019 by Kwanza Osajyefo, Clara Speed McNeil and Vanick Paquette with John Cassaday as H1's Chief Creative Officer and Mark Waid as H1's Director of Creative Development. There's a clear hierarchy right ther...

Re: New Exec Editor at Valiant and a promised new direction!

That said, given the direction of those books and the animosity toward Heather Antos, I can't imagine this board will approve of Valiants potentially new direction. I think I can speak for all of us that were pretty critical of Heather Antos when I say that I am hopeful. This time could be differen...

Re: New Exec Editor at Valiant and a promised new direction!

Okay, after one year during which David Wohl didn't get anything done for whatever (private) reasons, this seems to be a good move. Just like Wohl, Rob Levin's name doesn't ring a bell at first but his track record isn't bad and he has been involved in an incredible amount of indie stuff I actually...

Re: Ninjak #1(2021) Review

The assassination plot was pretty obvious. I'll have to dig out the end of kindt's run, but if I recall correctly, a lot of that was the ties with darque and deadside. There wasn't any of those references here.

Re: Ninjak #1(2021) Review

I didn't mind the art, and the story could be interesting. I don't understand the monsters or mutants or whatever at the end of the book. That came completely out of left field and it made no sense. Maybe something from the dead side ? I wish Valiant would just stick with some semblance of continuit...

Re: Thoughts on NINJAK #1 due on July 14, 2021?

I went back and looked at the short 6 page or so Ninjak/XO story from XO 50, and I liked it much better today than I did when it came out. I originally felt the art was too jarring compared to what I was used to with valiant, but now I think the art is bit more interesting. That said, I am a bit ske...

Not sick of these threads at all. I really appreciate them. I would love to have a database that had all the retailer/convention covers documented. I can't tell if its just a worthless preview book or if they will have some original prelude like content.

Both stories were a bit meh, but I loved the art. Whaleville's illustration, in particular, were amazing.

That said, I liked that Bad Idea went out on a limb to try something different. You don't see this type of work being released by any mainstream publisher.

On a more serious note, Seeley's Bloodshot certainly takes place after HW2. X-O returns to Earth during HW2.....and his story is then continued in Kindt's run. No idea, how Aric got from being in New Dacia (Western Nebraska) with Schon to being in NYC alone?!? :? It just makes no sense. It almost f...

Bloodshot / XO Continuity

Ok, before people scream continuity is dead, let's assume...err...pretend....that continuity is still an ongoing focus at VEI....DMG. My question is, where would you slide the newest Bloodshot and XO books into the continuity. Starting with Bloodshot, XO makes an appearance in #8 with his old armor,...
