Re: BAD IDEA
Looking forward to new IPs being announced around January, hopefully. Excited to see what book Matt Kindt produces for Bad Ideas. Also interested in knowing how many launch titles are planned.

Re: Are the covers better now?
I actually think the Punk Mambo cover looks amazing. It's stylized with a strong color scheme, and a unique layout. The mixture of hard edges, and soft shading is also a nice touch. I'll admit, it doesn't look like a traditional comic book cover due to the vector based art style on parts of the imag...

So the Chinese Courts froze Yinji's assets last year, Dan Mantz has been struggling to get any of the previous in development Valiant projects off the ground, literally all of DMG's subsidiaries are loss leaders, and now Chris Fenton is suing DMG. Am I forgetting anything? I remember that there were...

Re: Psi-Lords in June
Plus, a real, living artist is drawing a character that's supposed to originate from their very own real-life setting, and it's always going to be likely that they'll be influenced to some degree by real people that the artist has encountered, so I really don't think it's bizarre that a 'trendy' ch...

All of the characters look cool, except for that red-haired character. He's literally giving me cancer from how obnoxious his design is I'm fascinated by this insight. What exactly is missing from this character that would make him less cancer-inducing? Do you hate the beard? The red hair? The fat?...

This looks terrible. And I'm a huge fan of FVL's A&A, and I'm one of the few people that didn't hate Gen Zero. But holy cow this looks gay. Gay? Who's gay? Are Hazard and Beacon gay? Because if the first issue ends with the two of them making out that would be a big thumbs up from me. :thumb: I...

Generation Zero in Space . We've got a discount Green Lantern, a lame version of Wraith from Apex Legends, Hipster Jesus, and a character who's on the spectrum... the electromagnetic spectrum. Anyone else notice that the female character's personalities described them as being on the extremes of emo...

His characters can't behave like normal human beings, because their too busy being overly self-aware of their respective tropes....

Pre-established fan base? Hey Heather I was reading Valiant when you were 2 years old. Didn't Dinesh himself, and Eric Heisserer both mention that Valiant didn't have much of a pre-established fanbase? Heisserer specially mentioned that when he was writing the script for Harbinger the lack of a lar...

Re: New X-O MANOWAR Title Coming This Fall
So unless we're informed otherwise, this is officially the end of Matt Kindt's relationship with Valiant. It's a little sad that his departure is being given so little attention. It feels like he's being eyeing the door for a year, and only stood on board to completely his previous obligations. Greg...

Rai pretty much operates on Clarke's Third Law. The science in 4000 A.D. is so advanced its indistinguishable from magic. For all we know some of these characters could just be androids dressed up as mythical creatures. Like previous posters mentioned, the animal people are probably just a result of...

Re: First look at Vin Diesel as Bloodshot
I was hoping for a picture of him in full costume, but this is still pretty cool. We're getting close to the first teaser trailer being released now that we're only a year away from the movie being release. I'll admit the only franchises Vin Diesel has managed to jumpstart are Fast and Furious and R...

Re: DMG Entertainment Founder Dan Mintz on Acquiring Valiant
I'm sticking to my theory that DMG Entertainment only bought Valiant to try to sell it at a later point for a higher price. If Valiant is worth a minimum of $220 million right now it could easily climb past the $500 million mark as long as the first few films are successful. Dan Mintz is probably h...

Re: VALIANT Hires Two from Comics & Music Journalism
Why is Valiant the only publisher to announce stuff like this? Positive press? It helps to convince investors that the company is maintaining momentum, and counteracts the negative press from when someone departs the company. Valiant lost one Executive Editor, but immediately announced four separat...

I enjoy good snark, but I like to be snarky back when it's deserved. In this case, they didn't even proofread it. "Marta who keeps the woman's restrooms spotless" So much for gender equality. There's only one woman, and she gets multiple restrooms all to herself. :o "Swartzen who has...

Re: "Joe Illidge, No Longer Executive Editor at Valiant"
There was an interview 2 weeks ago where Kindt says once he's done with X-O he's moving onto his creator-owned work exclusively. I doubt giving the copy room boy a raise is going to make him change his career plans. Meyer's position sounds like a placeholder until they can find a a proper EIC. Meye...

Re: "Valiant hires new third shift janitorial service."
Don't let this distract you from the fact that why didn't renew their contract with RicoMortis Snacks and Co. This Janitor promotion is just here to distract you from the fact that they're getting rid of the vending machines and breakroom coffee maker. Now everyone has to go across the street to S00...

Re: "Joe Illidge, No Longer Executive Editor at Valiant"
You have a good point that lack of overall interest in Valiant could be the biggest factor. Bloodshot's only boost is from the movie news, and we never heard anything on actual sales for that book. Just that they shipped a ton of returnable copies. It's hard to get a read on anything these days. Val...

Re: "Joe Illidge, No Longer Executive Editor at Valiant"
I think Dan Mintz might be the real problem here. Joe is just getting the blame for Dan's sinking ship. Think about it, Joe's got a long resume of working at various companies. At none of the companies he worked for previously was there ever a history of such a high turnover rate of creative talent....

Re: DMG Entertainment Founder Dan Mintz on Acquiring Valiant
I don't think I've ever seen someone as full of *SQUEE* as this guy. He's exactly like all of the CEOs that took over gaming publishers in the mid-thousands. Using vague nondescript language to mask the fact that they're completely apathetic to the product they're producing. "I think storytelli...

Re: Harbinger Movie Rumor
Beanie Feldstein is probably going to get locked into a multi-picture deal since Faith is getting her own solo movie after Harbinger comes out. It makes sense that they'd announce the actors for Faith and Peter first since they're the most important characters in the film, from a franchise point of ...
