Re: Best Valiant Fighter?

My short list; 1. Rai - No other Valiant character has as much mastery of so many things like healing, teleportation, energy manipulation. His swordsmanship is second to none. As a hand-to-hand fighter he has no rival. He can be defeated by trickery and deceit. But a straight up fight he's the best ...

Re: Valiant Summit: What new title are you most excited abou

I voted Britannia and Savage because these are new books, and other stuff while it looks intriguing is more or less a continuation of what we've seen before. Not saying these new books are original, just saying that I have no expectations and I kinda like that when I pick up a new series.

Re: Book of the Geomancers: Broken?

Is it canon? let's look at Bloodshot. In the BoD he eventually dies sometime way into the future (maybe even past 4001 as he has apparently gone through a civilization or two) and is still himself (unachanged); that is in his original body. **Spoilers But in 4001 (coming this summer) he clearly has...

Re: Sales of all Valiant titles so far

Are you posting this same thing on all the Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Dark Horse, and Boom fan websites, or did you skip over all those larger variant publishers to bug the fans of a publisher with 1% of the market because that's where you think you can make the biggest impact? Maybe I'll do just that...

Re: Sales of all Valiant titles so far

This is the internet. I don't know why you thought we'd be expecting a different definition? A "variant" as we are discussing is in fact a comic book. It may be a collector's item, whether or not it is depends on all sorts of factors. I don't really care about variants either way. If I wa...

Re: 4001 AD 1:100 B&W

"Trolling" - nice. I don't think that means what you think it means. Stephenson has some good points. Out of the many problems he pointed out, his company is only not guilty of one of them - exclusive variants. And that's just recently. And they'll still do exclusive variants on trades, s...

Re: 4001 AD 1:100 B&W

I am sorry to be even thinking this but Valiant's marketing with the variant covers is starting to look much too similar to Dynamite (sucks!) (sucks!) for my taste. Looking around I have had to realize that's how the market looks nowadays, but I must agree with you. From the beginning I really thou...

Which begs the question of why bother bringing up this thread about Valiant not making the list. Plenty of books didn't make the list.

Also wasn't East of West on the list last year?

Well it is a Valiant site after all...I would hope it's a cheerleading squad. but I would like to know what sales really has to do with best comics on that list...It's supposed to be the 100 best comics. and they have some absolute Sh!t on that list...both writing quality, art quality and color qua...

Re: CBR LEAVES VEI OUT FOR 2ND YEAR IN A ROW!

You guys need to read your own posts from outsider's perspective. It's like cheerleading squad here. What Valiant needs is sales. They need to crack the top 10 monthly list then maybe...CBR will give finally play cheerleader with you guys. So how does Valiant increase their sales, two fundamental wa...

Re: Dr. Mirage: Second Lives #1 Discussion

I thought it was fantastic. I like how Van Meter goes right into the supernatural/magic vocabulary without any additional exposition or call out boxes to explain them. This is the world the Mirages operate in. Deal with it. I liked that approach. The art was terrific again. I really think this book...

Re: Unity #24

Unity has been so bad for so long. I'm so glad it's ending. If Valiant keeps putting out poor books like this, I'm going to have to stop pulling everything Valiant and just stick with their better stuff. Even Marvel puts out better comic books than this. I guess I'm not the only one who can spot po...

Re: Thoughts on the Future

PR and marketing are nowhere close to being the same thing. Marvel and DC didn't push their characters onto third-parties. It's the other way around. Third-parties came to Marvel and DC, some wanting to capitalize on something popular and marketable, and some just wanting to do their own thing. If ...

Re: Thoughts on the Future

 However, with the introduction of the limited edition Bloodshot statue (possibly Rai), they are making tentative steps towards this. The other question is...who is Valiants mass appeal character. X-O Manowar will be considered too close to Iron Man. Bloodshot is not family friendly. Ninjak c...

Re: Thoughts on the Future

Bottom line, it doesn't matter what age bracket they target, the real problem is Batman has had a 40 yr PR blitz by third party companies. Whether its cartoon, toys, clothes, bed sheets or even candy. Valiant simply doesn't have a clue or the amount of financial backing to thrust any of their IPs be...

Re: Confirmed: Valiant Ending Unity

I've just caught myself up on Unity last night, and I gotta say it was rather mediocre book. The characters were poorly aligned and there seem to be this vague "superpower" agenda that we've seen in thousands of team books from 90's era. Unity is nothing special. I think Rai is a better te...

Re: Dead ISN'T Dead anymore?

When you gotta use the dictionary to defend the plausibility of a fictional story....something is wrong. I fear this is the beginning of Valiant's marketing taking over the editorial common sense. I don't know how long I can sustain being entertained by Valiant's incomprehensible theatricals.
