Re: SCOOP: Valiant's Beyond Preview Edition Ashcan At San Diego Comic-Con

Limited to 2000 copies is such a bad decision. If you're creating a promo book to hype your launches don't limit it...feels like business 101.

At 2000 and free, I’m guessing they will have leftovers based on last years’s exclusive.

Ah, so the limited edition thing is just marketing and ...

He was very generous with his time and signatures for fans. I found him delightfully gruff at the same time with smiles.

nycjadie,
I’ve got to ask…. How many Shooter signed comics do you have?
I have no idea. Likely over 100. I probably have over 20 CGC signed books as well.

Just boarding a plane. He will be missed. Saw him last year and thought he did not look well. It’s the end of an era. He will be missed,

Re: color / colour pages approval sheet

I’ve seen $20-45 as reasonable for color pages without a hero.

They can go for over $100 for a splash.

$300+ for a cover.

Re: Valiant Action Figures Please!! :-)

You'd think with the owners of Valiant being Chinese (or people who do a lot of business in China) that they'd have easy access to some of the great toy and merchandise manufacturers there. :?

Yeah, but right now it's presently moot due to Drumpf's tariffs on China disrupting shipments ...

I have the full interior pages to Rai 11 (not the cover), and always thought it would be cool to see a "IDW Artist's Edition" rendition of this issue. Love Chen's work.

Re: Sean Chen Interview

Watching this now. The piece of art discussed at 27:00 is a promotional piece that was used in advertising, and it was used on a poster. I never knew it was based on a BWS layout. I have the original inked art to this one, bought probably around 13-14 years ago. It's framed and I just shipped it to ...

Agreed. I very much enjoyed the interview and hearing about Bob's time at Valiant. He seems to really enjoy life. Living a life in a Korean apartment for next to nothing (I couldn't quite catch his rent price), walking around town and buying his food for the day, etc. I liked that life as well ...

Re: Valiant Beyond in Valiant and Alien Books' May 2025 Solicitations

Oh boy. Anime covers.

Anime/manga is cool, and seeing as Alien works with manga artists frequently, it makes sense to give Valiant a little manga flare. At the very least, they're trying something different, which oughtta be lauded.

Good points. I just don't like the art style.

Luckily I ...

Is this the most expensive store variant? This is bananas to me. What am I missing? Poor Veregge passed away last year (my age). I’m not seeing why two people would bid this one up.
