I love those books. We don’t really get them stateside. I pick up 2000 ad when I can for cheap, or even Beano.

Re: Trying to find a plan for large collection of slabs

I have a few emails from a Valiant collector named Gordon. I won’t use his last name here. I’m so sorry for your loss. I have a similar passion as your FIL. He is a kindred spirit to me. We are a bit of a small crazy pool of people. I wonder what my kids will do with my mess of Valiant. Heritage cer...

Re: Alien making the same mistake as DMG

BPRD still does the miniseries numbering but puts the overall number inside the book. Mignola had to recognize the marketplace realities. People buy #1 issues, but fans like the longer narrative.

I don’t love a million variants, but as a OA cover collector, it gives me more opportunities!

I still can't use this board. I'm dumb.

February 25 - Added some splash, half-splash and nice hero pages to this mix, including an unpublished full splash Acclaim page. 10 new pages in all. I can ship this week.

Re: Nycjadie's Sale List - Updated February 25

I'm finally starting to weed my collection down. This has been a long delayed exercise for many reasons. In almost all cases, the items are unique, rare or scarce. I'd like these to go to a good home to a fellow Valiant collector. No prices are listed, but just ask. I will price everything reasonab...

I've noticed these far more on Ninjak. Slightly fewer on Bloodshot. None on Shadowman and very few on Geomancer and X-O.

I love them all and keep every on I find. :)

SO let me just say, in my opinion the following quote from nycjadie (which after all these years I just realised is nyc newyorkcity Jadie is that correct?) NYC is my old home town. Jadie is my middle name. I adopted an email with these two words about 25 years ago for use on websites like this. :)

I just got a CGC signing email for Liefeld. I've seen him several times, but I do not have the stomach to wait the lines. He has always looked far younger than his years. But that last photo. Damn. He is seriously Benjamin Button. I guess Deadpool royalties allow you all the hair treatments and bot...

Re: Just not feeling it anymore

Arguably, one of the most important examples of how the tone of VALIANT's comics differed from that of DC and Marvel and made them more grounded was that Phil Seleski -- an energy God struggling to retain his humanity -- regularly met with a psychologist. That sort of anchor kept him grounded becau...

Re: Just not feeling it anymore

VH1 had a community of fans that consisted of most collectors and readers at the beginning and it petered out like most publishers in that era. I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t hundred of thousands at a certain point. Today’s Valiant community is incredibly small. Probably a few thousand. It’s p...

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Thanks for posting, man. I appreciate you. I enjoy the books intermittently, and I still enjoy all the nostalgia with collecting. I also now focus on other things. Platinum and golden age is my thing right now. I can get some of the first comics ever printed for les...
