Re: Lewis LaRosa - Bloodshot commission for Vin Diesel

Crazy speculation on future art plans - the commission may be used in official movie marketing. Wouldn't that be a kick-ass movie poster?

Re: VALIANT SOLD

They're not going to be making any official statements - I'm sure there's a legal silence factor at play as there is in any deal of this sort.

Re: VALIANT SOLD

I'm seeing in various places around the net people tossing out that Dinesh being forced out is all due to the clause, but I don't think so. VEI made a deal with a DMG, an entertainment co, for an influx of cash and name awareness for their non-comic development. VEI didn't need that money to survive...

Re: VALIANT SOLD

Well, one thing is for certain, which is that all of the books currently in works or finished but not yet released will remain the same quality that we expect. Any new product releases like shirts, etc., were already in the works with Dinesh in the lead. I've noticed that Valiant has taken to note p...

Re: VALIANT SOLD

To be fair, I don't know that the Cuneos took a buyout, but that is what their venture capitalist company does, so it would have happened eventually. With Dinesh being forced out, it seems obvious that the timing is not what he had hoped. I know some of their books weren't big sellers but were criti...

Re: what is this?

Although, I like Mintz's one quote... “You can expect more strong storytelling with a defined road to other platforms,” he says. “I’m also looking forward to bringing the writers close to the filmmaking process, which is something that is also important, and not keeping them siloed into the comic b...

Re: what is this?

I am not happy at all. It was always the case that Cuneo & Co would sell - they are a venture capitalist company that invests in entertainment startups - a brief look at their info shows the boards they've sat on and later sold. The worry is that whomever buys will push out the team that made Va...

Re: Bloodshot Salvation #3

Lemire knows how to twist the knife in the fans. Heartbreaking ending. I'm assuming that when they shut down the nanites, it also shut down Bloodhound and the rest of the gang. Last I heard Kay was still with G.A.T.E., but the other surviving Bloodshots were off doing their own thing. Obviously they...

Re: Ninja-K #1 discussion

Great story. Always enjoyable when the story resolution isn't choreographed - there's still mystery to this piece. I enjoyed Gage's work with BTVS, so am looking forward to watching it unfurl. Tomas' art is fantastic as well. Very strong book. 10/10

Re: Bloodshot Salvation #2

Crazy theory It's bloodshot in the basement. He's been captured and has had his nanites extracted by coaxing or forced out. It can't be Bloodshot (Ray) - it's happening in the same timeline as his visit to "Daddy". They shift the location to Ohio but they don't change the time period of t...

Bloodshot Salvation #2

My review at All-Comic: http://all-comic.com/2017/bloodshot-salvation-2/ Lemire has done much to develop Bloodshot's character over the years. Great characterizations and depth. Even the scarred man showed a softer side. Good story, beautiful book. Lewis and Mico complement each other. I like Rodrig...

Re: Faith & The Future Force #3 Discussion

Pretty good story. I think Faith is more heroic here than we've seen her before.

Am I crazy or was that a Phineas and Ferb reference?

Re: War Mother #2 Discussion

I liked the first issue, but this one was so much better. Have high expectations for the rest of the mini. There was a lot of set up in the first book, but this issue moved it forward and put some actual tension into the story - into both stories - (Ana's predicament plus her relationship with Flaco...

My review as well:

Did everyone catch the subtle differences between issue one and two? Like the cats in the cafe? In issue one, they were real cats. Issue two, they're robotic.

Faith and the Future Force #2 Discussion

I liked it. I thought Neela was annoying as heck in Ivar, Timewalker, but here she's likeable. Kudos to Houser for accomplishing that for me. My favorite thing about this issue, other than those awesome panels of the gathered heroes, was how the Renegades related to each other as both friends and te...

Re: War Mother #1 Discussion

I'm waiting on my review to post on All-Comic. I gave it a 9 out of 10. I love War Mother - she's a great character. Van Lente gave us both a story impetus and added to her personal story (the balance of egos and family in her personal life). You can see how much happier and free she feels while &qu...

Re: Harbinger Renegade #6 Discussion

I'm still waiting for All-Comic to post my review. Sounds like the podcast hit on some of my points about the book, although mine are limited to spoiler free. Lots of little goodies in this book. Brotherhood of Cuth (which is interesting that the Alpha chose to adorn himself and his throne room with...

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot

BUT, I'll see the movie regardless. I'll cross my fingers that he'll behave professionally.

Also, he may find working on a character without as much backstory/baggage as the Joker to be a good thing. He gets to define who Bloodshot is for an entire generation.

Re: Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshot

I'm sure he can bulk up for the role. He's dramatically changed his physical appearance for other roles. Have you seen his transformation for the role of John Lennon's assassin? He can act well and has done some excellent work, but he has such negative publicity for his personal behavior (the ridicu...

Re: Harbinger: Renegade #5 Discussion

Palmer is a thoroughly unlikable character. He was questionable up til now -- but here he's a borderline psychopath. I thought he was a bit extreme, too, but after a second read, I realized the shock of the deaths and the battle gore was coloring my view of him. We don't see him in anything but bat...

Re: Harbinger: Renegade #5 Discussion

So, to recap: Deceased Chronus, killed by Lifeline While I think many of us are debating the Iconic claims, I'd say it's undebatable to say *SQUEE*! Went! Down!! It wasn't Lifeline. "Techs" don't go into the field. We never see who actually pulls the trigger. I'm curious if that will come...

Re: Harbinger: Renegade #5 Discussion

I believe what Valiant is trying to do is sell comic books. The message, if there is one, is that nothing is simple, including "rights and wrongs". All shades of gray and viewpoints.

This one is a shocker. It will punch you in the gut.
