Re: The Devil's Thread: Matt Wagner's Grendel

Well gang, we can all hope that it is actually good, even though Netflix is now know more for their fails than actual quality. I do remember the time i was finished with Devil's Tales last story, after going through all of the main series and most of the other stuff and just thinking "this coul...

Re: The Devil's Thread: Matt Wagner's Grendel

I have been out of the loop for a while, just saw these news. Its awesome that its happening. I think. More exposure to the comic, probably a shiny new pritnting of all the rare stuff (Omnibus, please) and MW might even start a new series or something. That said, i don't really care for the adaptati...

Re: Thoughts on NINJAK #1 due on July 14, 2021?

I don't have a problem with the linework, especially on a Jeff Parker penned book. But those colors! Painful. I actually tried to imagine some of the pages in B&W and i think they would look a lot better. I don't know if its my broken brain, but there's some Stan Sakai influence in this artwork...

Re: Thoughts on NINJAK #1 due on July 14, 2021?

After looking at the FCBD pages, i can honestly and safely say i'm not a fan. This type of artwork in superhero comics, i.e. cartoony and stylish instead of the usual DC and Marvel house styles... if these are still a thing) usually works for me when the artist is very tight with details and has a &...

Re: Thoughts on NINJAK #1 due on July 14, 2021?

There is something very off with this preview. I did not disliked the more indie-looking artwork, but its certainly not what i expect to see in a Ninjak comic. Too bad there's no action so i could have a better idea of the artist's skills in that aspect, but even then, the dialogue felt off, just do...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

Batman by Tynion. Still mediocre Bats book, with made for specs characters every 2 months it appears. I strongly reccommend not getting into it, if you are a Batman fan with some years of reading. Its just bland and a "product". Tynion is killing it (the children  ) on creator-owned ...

Re: Bad Idea is OVER!!!

Ok, here's a simple question: Is this actually the end of the company or is it another Bad Idea gimmick, as in, they are trolling people with this announcement and the next month or so we get news that its just a rebranding or whatever? I sort of appreciate the sense of humor if its the latter, but ...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

Anybody reading Batman run with Clownhunter, Punchline, and Ghostmaker? People hating on it from what I can tell, but I've been enjoying Joker War and what's happening after I am, have a complete run of Tynion's Bats, so far. I loved the art on Joker War, said it in a thread about Batman i made aro...

Re: 29 years of collecting Valiant...

Wasn't the X-Men REALLY big in 1980? :? That aside :P , I think that you are forgetting one minor detail, if I may: both DC and Marvel had been huge in popular culture at some point before they turned 21. DC invented the genre of superheroes (and made a couple of them quite famous...) and Marvel was...

Afflecks Batman was great. They need an entire movie on him basically storming warehouses. We can always hope that in a few years he'll be back, and they adapt the Mutants and Joker stuff from TDKR. :| He really was amazing as Bats, "that" rescue Martha scene is the most amazing *SQUEE* e...

Re: The Bat-Thread

Some of my thoughts about the Bat-stuff out there: Comics stuff. I grabbed the latest Detective ( #1027 , the 1000th issue with Batman in the book, as everyone knows), and for the price - 9.99- it was a decent chunk of good Batman stories. Nothing that will be remembered as Great Stuff, but neverthe...

Some thought on my reads of this week: - Batman: Universe - One of the worst Batman books that i've read in a long time. BEAUTIFUL ART, though, but that doesn't make up for the lame story here. I just rolled my eyes non-stop while reading it. Batman sounds like a moron here, and hahahahasofunnyherea...

Re: The Devil's Thread: Matt Wagner's Grendel

There's a serious lack of WTFisms in this book, so far. I have no problems with the somehow outlandish premise, but I thought this was going to get crazy and weird as soon as they started hopping from planet to planet... There's still half to come, so, let's hope it turns out being one of those type...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I just read the Absolute Edition of All Star Batman and Robin: The Boy Wonder. The introduction explained that this story is in the same bat-verse as Dark Knight, Dark Knight Returns, etc. Knowing that, I really enjoyed the series. I enjoyed the Batman with an edge, and art (of course) was fantasti...

So, Death Metal, DC's latest BIG event is supposed to be an "Anti-Crisis" where at the end we'll realise that "everything/every story matters". Snyder's words. I take from this that DC is going to give up on a shared linewide continuity for future monthlies- and with these more r...

They need to find the button that would add a store in Germany already. And in ol' Portugal too. But honestly, I am just not hopeful. At all. The non-english speaking countries are an afterthought for publishers, have no idea why in this age where almost everyone speaks the language. Maybe they get...

Finally got around to read Doomsday Clock . This was absolutely- and tbh, surprisingly -VERY, VERY good, specially after the middle until the very end, last freaking panel.
