That aside :P , I think that you are forgetting one minor detail, if I may: both DC and Marvel had been huge in popular culture at some point before they turned 21. DC invented the genre of superheroes (and made a couple of them quite famous...) and Marvel ...

Afflecks Batman was great. They need an entire movie on him basically storming warehouses.

Finally got around to read Doomsday Clock .
This was absolutely- and tbh, surprisingly -VERY, VERY good, specially after the middle until the very end, last freaking panel.
And it sure reads better in one sitting, I had called quits on the 4th issue delay, I think.
