Re: Just not feeling it anymore
Phantom, As I was reading this, I had to check to make sure that I had not posted it. I feel you completely. I also went down the Bad Idea trail, but I've had to bail on that as I was unwilling and unable to chase buttons and convention-only books. I overpaid for the first two kickstarters, but I've...

Re: CGC Cleaning/Submission Question:
Thanks for the feedback. I think you may be right. I put it in mylar with some firm backing boards and that may be the best this book can do at the moment.

CGC Cleaning/Submission Question:
1. Can you submit different orders in the same box? For example, can I send in a modern, no pressing, in the same box with order for vintage, pressing? I'm just trying to save on shipping, but didn't know how that affects processing and return shipping. 2. Any thoughts on whether CGC cleaning would ...

Re: Second Submission Results & Turnaround Times
Third Submission Results: I was still riding my high of having 6 of my first 8 submissions being 9.8 with the other two being 9.6, I decided submit again. This time the results were more pedestrian and more unexpected (both good and bad). I paid for pressing this time around: New Mutants 98 - Newsst...

Re: My original art holy grail
Say what you want about Frank Miller, but this image is emblazoned on my mind and was a seminal turning point for my relationship with comics back in the 80s. It is arguably one of the greatest story arcs in superhero comics, and is certainly a favorite among folks not just of my age, but also my t...

Re: What do you want in a potential Valiant cinematic universe?
Just spitballing here, but I think Shadowman is the best IP for potential mass appeal that can bring something slightly different to the table. You'll have some comic and video game nostalgia, plus fans of horror and superhero genres. Keep it dark. Keep it voodoo. Let the jazz play out. Put it in Ne...

After all these years, I've finally decided to work on a complete run of Gold Key Magnus and Solar (and maybe one day Turok). Just looking for raws, but the CGC set is impressive.

Sorry to have derailed the conversation about the Solar-inspired book, but let's talk about a book that may have inspired Solar. I'm sure this has come up before, but I just saw this pulp for the first time today: Astounding Science Fiction (September 1952): https://pictures.abebooks.com/inventory/1...

This is cool. I wish a Bad Idea destination store in my state. I've done the mail order for the last two waves, but I'm skipping this round of books and will buy on the aftermarket when I can.
Loved all the books so far though and I'm sure this will be just as awesome.

Re: Valiant VHS Tape?
Without addressing whether VEI actually acquired the rights to the Continuity Bible (which is just like a glorified internal memo, right?), it seems like you'd be covered under the fair use doctrine if you just post a page every now and then and include some scholarly notations or comments. But I'm ...

Here’s another update. Covrprice now reflects the price that I paid when I bought directly from mycomicshop, so I guess they share data. Interesting, right?

Re: WTB (hear me out) Cerebus 1 and 4
There is a nice CGC 9.4 copy of #4 on eBay with a 25% off sale right now Thanks for pointing out that book, and I learned something that I'll share with the group. MyComicShop had that same book on their website for $60 less than the discounted ebay price and there was no sales tax collected for my...

[CLOSED - FINALLY COMPLETED RUN] WTB (hear me out) Cerebus 1 and 4
I'm looking for a copy of Cerebus 1 and 4 to complete my run. I am interested in the counterfeit 1 as well, but it's really secondary. I don't know if I'm mentally ready to pay the money for the #1 just yet, but we'll see. This may be the only "WTB Cerebus" post on the internet in the last...

Re: Dino Looking to Buy Back Valiant? (Bleeding Cool)
My hot take is that Bad Idea is putting out better books than VEI and it would be going backwards to try to bring Valiant back from the brink. I loved the characters as a kid and VEI gave me the nostalgia high that I needed to fuel another 20 years. Let's push things forward now (says the guy postin...
