I'll confess to really loving most of the early 90's Image stuff back then. Never really liked Youngblood though. Not just bc of Liefeld's art though I could never understand what the hell was going on. I also really dug Quasar, New Warriors, and anything Lobo.

There are more than superficial similarities, particularly to Prime.

I'm almost certain that what this is really about is throwing tons of bones (and licensing fees) to Neil Gaiman, so that he will write more Marvel comics in the future.

Specifically, so that Neil Gaiman will finish writing Miracleman for Marvel. That would be a huge win for Marvel.
