Re: Shadowman #1 Discussion
This was a 5/5 for me. Story, lore, action, horror, mystery, bit of character development - all the elements I was looking for in this book. I can't find much to complain about. This will be the book I can't wait for every month now.

Re: Shadowman 1 !!!
This book blew me away and is instantly my favorite of the Valiant titles. Loved how it quickly jumped into things with action, but at the same time there was a lot of story to absorb. Writing and art were both great top notch. I appreciated that there were strong horror elements and urge the creato...

Re: Defiant - where to begin?
Dark Dominion was fantastic - had a great, old-school Dr. Strange vibe to it. Anyone who likes Shadowman should check out this book. I enjoyed DD + Good Guys and Warriors of Plasm to a much lesser degree.

Still waiting on my copy thanks to Hurricane Sandy.
I will throw in my vote for non glossy as a general preference. I'm a graphic designer and when people have me do print jobs they always want glossy, but I have always preferred non-gloss.

I've gone 360 from being a Marvel guy to a DC guy in the last 10-15 years. Little Marvel does makes sense to me anymore.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Enjoyed the discussion on variant covers a lot. I still have a lot of mixed feelings about it, but I will probably get all the variants I can at cover price and then selectively get more expensive ones I really want.

Re: Here is another question
I like them when done right as others have said. Back when I started reading comics in the early 80s they felt like special books, but sort of evolved into cash grabs. In other words, I am nostalgic for the days when annuals were done right, but they often are not so.. meh.

I just read the first issue. I have not decided yet what my reaction is. I can easily see this book being polarizing to people.

Re: Does lots of variants lower the value of variants in gen
I am currently buying the variants that I can get for cover price, but I would like to see them taper off. It is fun when a title is launched or there is a special event (Ninjak returns!) to have a variant cover, but doing it for every issue really is pointless and unsatisfying as a fan. For #1s I h...

Kevin - That does seem quite OCD, but more power to ya. I guess everyone on this board has some degree of OCD or we wouldn't be here![Laughing ](./images/smilies/27_laughing.gif)

I was glad to see this. Have had a bit of trouble getting a hold of the floppy versions of this book (not that I have tried very hard). Anxious to see what the buzz is about with this one.

My copy has a little bit of scuffing on the top edges.Rufusharley wrote:the outer cover to each is a little scratched and slightly roughed up edges. I guess it's going to be hard to find one with a perfect outer cover. Has this been discussed?

I liked the Green Lantern 0s. The Guy Gardner one made me like that character more. The one with the new GL has me interested.
Batman and Demon Knights 0s were decent as well.
