Turok
Did anyone read yesterday's Turok. It had some familiar faces. Of all Dynamite's Gold Key attempts, this might be my favorite.

Re: What's the best comic investment you've ever made?
I own a property management company and during the housing downturn a few years back used to get a lot of work cleaning out bank repos. I put a bid in on a nice house out in the country that involved the use of heavy equipment to clean out fence rows. The company that I used to compete against would...

Re: Ultraverse Thread
I'm only missing about 3 issues of the entire Ultraverse Line. Dave Dorman's Solitaire card art got me into a comic shop and collecting. Consequently I was excited to meet Rick Hoberg at the ICON last Saturday. I commissioned an Atom Bob sketch and we discussed the plans for the Strangers if it had ...

Re: Aspen Comics questions for those who read it or not
I don't read a lot of Aspen but I enjoyed Lola XOXO. It wasn't perfect but the art is striking and had elements of both Jeremiah and Into the Badlands. It's only a couple of minis right now so its easy to get into.

Re: Gotten into a series based on cover art?
I always loved Star Wars and Star Trek so I had some comics of each but very little of anything else. Then when I was around 18 I saw the Dave Dorman card art for Ultraverse's Solitaire so I picked it up. Then I picked up everything from Ultraverse. Then I picked up everything. Thanks Dave Dorman.

I loved Tellos and am looking forward to my kids reading it someday but its not a true swords and sorcery comic in the last issue. Still well worth it.

Re: The First Church Of Jim Shooter
I've got around 35,000 comics across several decades and have found that they became readable when Shooter was editing. When he was in charge some of the stuff from Marvel was great but almost everything was coherent.

Everything pre-marvel. I loved the Ultraverse and have all but 3 books, but some of it got so bad that the editor of Mantra apologized in the last issue.

I've been waiting for the trade so I could pass it off to my 60 year old father. Unfortunately it doesn't have the future history, fake company ads, and current scientific breakthrough updates that are in the floppies. I've enjoyed every page of every issue and figured he might enjoy something like ...

Re: Comic to Movies
CGI is a big part of comic translations being easier to do well. I think the other reason that comic movies are popular with studios is that while theaters are having a hard time, comic book movies have a predictable segment of the population that will watch no matter what. An established IP cuts do...

The Massive isn't like a lot of other stuff out there. It's not a quick read like most floppies. I enjoy the story in the front and the realistic backstory in the back.
