It's fertile ground, for sure, and I'd love to see more of it. But these days 'ongoing' seems to be anything that has more than eight issues. Nothing is really ongoing these days.

Just read it. It's really kind of a point blank opening lacking any nuance. "And here's Strong Guy and LaserFace!" But in Fred's defense, maybe he just wants to get the ball rolling quickly so we can move onto a meatier story. Some of the dialogue is cheesy... "Wait'll they get a load...

As for Schon's ring being in the hands of the bounty hunters, I think it's a good setup for some future action.

And Helix survived as I recall. Helix popped back up at the end of the Unity series. If I'm not mistaken, in one of the 4001 crossovers as well? Jeez, your memory is better than mine. Last I recall, she was disincorporating and disappearing into a telephone line(?). And remember: You never saw Reeb...

It still bothers me a bit that time dilation was only a factor in Aric's initial travels in space. I'm gonna pretend that Shanhara learned some cosmic wizardry when they merged with The Torment. It doesn't explain what might have come before but good enough. Prior cosmic travels would have happened...

And they're just fun to read. The title gets weird in the late Acclaim era, so they're another dose of the Vintage Magnus from earlier on.
