Re: XO Manowar #22 discussion

My problem with her plan of blackmailing Aric is its entirely dependent on him not understanding how the modern world works. The Visigoth settlement will have been highly publicized in every news outlet around the U.S., if not around the world. The U.S. government can't pulverize it with missiles wi...

Re: Dark Souls

I will probably inevitably pick up Dark Souls regardless of how far along I get on Demon's Souls. Did they do an "ultimate edition" of that with all the DLC? (assuming it had DLC)

Re: Bloodshot and HARDCorps #20 discussion

Rereading it to review it just today, I was a little more focused on the dialogue/plot/action, which was pretty good. I liked the use of the powers to blow up the bar and escape.

But yeah, that art...eh.

Re: Organising your collection

I don't separate pre-Unity from the rest of the run. Not sure why someone would. I have them separated into the three eras, and I also have my Gold Key, Dark Horse, and now Dynamite series of the GK3 adjacent to these as well. The biggest question for me is whether to file The Second Life of Doctor...

I don't know why he can't destroy Bloodshot (or ANOTHER Bloodshot, like an evil Bloodshot--who knows what shenanigans we're going to get into with plot twists?) at some future point in time. Nothing about this made me think it was whatever climactic battle was in the prophecy. I figured that would c...

Re: Bloodshot and HARDCorps #20 discussion

Art was terrible. I laughed a couple of times, though, so humor is intact, despite being technically a Bloodshot issue. Plotwise it was just one big long fight/chase scene so that if you only read A&A you aren't missing anything. Like that seemed obvious for why they were doing it this way. If I...

It was clearly a French Shadowoman what with the beret and such...we can assume she's related to the Boniface line in some way. I kind of agree on not exactly liking the WWII team thing...kind of hokey. It's like something DC or Marvel would do. Valiant seems like it should be trying to avoid that. ...

Re: Valiant titles aside....what is your top 10 current book

I fell out of reading a lot of the non-Valiant books recently, I still try to read them, but I might have to "catch-up" on severa months worth. Here's a partial list: Saga Batman Detective Comics The various Batman Beyonds and Justice League Beyonds The Shadow Mark Waid's Green Hornet Hawk...

Re: Rob Liefield's Turok:The Dinosur Hunter

To be fair, this is probably the highest quality drawing he's done. It's not that he doesn't draw feet, it's that he usually covers them because he can't draw them well. When he does they look like that. Those are signature Rob Liefeld feet. BUT they are the least bad Rob Liefeld feet I've seen. The...

A lot of that seems par for the course but actually copying one of the Valiant covers in that one variant cover is a bit over the line.

I saw a college-drama club production of Steel Magnolias instead of the movie. All this talk of these chick flicks like Steel Magnolias reminds me of Fried Green Tomatoes, I swear everyone watched that movie a hundred times when it came out and I still don't understand the appeal of that movie, at a...

I tried to jump on Moon Knight the last time they said it was a jumping on point, it was way too confusing.

This? No problem--clear explanation of what he is, his origins (no confusing multi-personality disorder matching up to other Marvel heroes) and I really liked it.

Those of us that dwell on the conservative/Republican side of the aisle should find Eric's political beliefs a refreshing change of pace, even in light of Woody's mocking of them. I also felt that the book kinda set itself on an even keel, politically speaking. I think the book would be hilarious i...

I'm unfortunately about 1/2 way through Demon's Souls...and been that way for over a year, I think. It's a little too nerve wracking for me. Re: Turok for the 360

Just to elaborate slightly, it has nothing to do with Turok as established in any of the comics or N64 video games. The only similarity is you fight dinosaurs and other creatures on an alien planet (not the Lost Land). You are a space marine named John Turok.

How much was it with gentle shipping?
For 50 dollars they give the shirts a massage, tuck them in and kiss them good night in their box.

I ordered 4 shirts too $65 shipped roughly. Disappointed that there aren't more 3X shirts though. I got the blue-green Quantum & Woody Lemire Harbinger "Destroyer" Shadowman Skull and the Red Unity shirt. I don't like white T-s, otherwise I'd get the Grampa bloodshot. I may get the A&...

The most important thing I got from the book--there's a grammatical error: Kozol says his spy is keeping him "appraised" of their movements. The word the writer was looking for was "apprised". :P EDIT: Wait, I got something more fun. This issue makes references to the "gun f...

I liked it a lot. Really like the new arc. Dox Hologram: Alyssa mentioned it might also be magic. In any case, I think it's clearly linked to her in some way, it's not going to turn on for just any old person, so I think passers-by aren't going to trigger it. I feel like I read a different comic than a lot of people here. The story is...fine. I feel it's an improvement on the original story arc. Does any of the technology in this arc distinctly mess with this arc taking place in the early '50s, before he joins MI6 or what have you? I had hopes for that, then I noticed in EW4 that Buck is driving a car...It's pretty obscured, but obviously doesn't seem to fit a 1950s car profile at all. I ho...

Re: The Valiant Kindle Worlds Novels :)

Well the thing with Kindle Worlds is there is some attempt at quality control as far as grammar and such go, making it different from fanfiction.net, but the previews for all of these read like those novels you buy at the dollar store. Very workmanlike in their prose and with basic storylines. Somet...

Re: CBR only has 2 VEI books in their top 100 of 2013

I don't know if I can really disagree with their top 100, though. There's a LOT of non-Marvel/DC in there. Sure, there's a couple dozen from each of them as well but what can you expect, it's only a top 100 list, not a top 1000 list, and they're Marvel/DC. I mean, let's be realistic. I don't know th...
