I am planning to go see it Thursday night. I am really looking forward to seeing Valiant on the big screen. I am worried that it won’t do well though. IIRC he left to go write X for Dark Horse.

There was also the Mezz one shot, but the Hammer of God series were the main ones.

I became a big Nexus fan during the dark horse days. There were a few spin off series so it definitely counts as a universe IMO.

Everyone see the latest trailer? Lots more "comics accurate" looking shots in this one. Overall i thought the first trailer was more interesting though.

If i were them i'd call it Valorous Comics and lead off with a character called Y-Z Manobattle. Then maybe follow that with Shademan, Bowman & Stronglimb, and Heralds.

I have mixed feelings. The movie dkesn't look interesting to me in the least. I always thought the best thing about Bloodshot was his visual design and looks lkke it will mostly not be there. I think that was my favorite Magnus story outside unity. It was also one of my favorite Predator comics as well. Solid story by Ostrander and great art by Lee Weeks.

It was and is my favorite Valiant series. IMHO it was good all the way through (with occasional ups and downs).

I wasnt as much of a fan of The Eternal Warriors. It was OK.

He was my second favorite artist in OG valiant (BWS being #1). The only original art i own is a page he did in EW (which was my favorite comic).

I've had "all Valiant" on my pull list at my LCS since day one of VEI. This comic is the first one that has given me pause.

I'll give it a shot but man I hope it isn't as bad as it looks.

Interesting...I honestly had no idea Layton had any involvement with the movie. I am glad both he and Kevin Van Hook are both getting to give some input.

FWIW I agree with the OP. Gilad was my favorite comicbook character when I was a kid. It was the only VH1 series I stuck with till it ended. I even got all the Acclaim issues even though they were terrible. I had such high hopes when VEI was relaunching...I couldn't wait for them to reintroduce EW. ...

I am still getting all the valiant titles but have stopped buying variants. IMHO they went overboard with it and it stopped being fun for me.

I am also still picking up the hardcovers, FWIW.

Purchased a set, $65 still seems like a screaming deal.

I missed out on the Jim Shooter Project, but would be down for something like this for Lapham for sure (especially if you do what say above). I will keep an eye on this thread for updates.

D'oh, looks like I missed the EW #18 for sale. If the pending sale on that one falls through please let me know, I would ike to buy it.

Thanks, and FWIW I understand the EW issues in the 40's started to get more rare and might need to be priced accordingly.
