Re: VALIANT April 2014 Solicits

Yeah, if thats the norm for the Valiant Masters book cover prices now I'm certain I'll be out of it. Unless they actually recolor it or have solid remastering or extras I can't see myself buying these anymore. Thats too much for reprinted material and I'm assuming theres no effort of restoration ...

Re: Sadly it has come to this

I don't get the big fuss about collecting variant covers. I've never made a big deal about all the cover versions out there. The stores always seem to jack up the price on them anyways (unless these variants cost the stores a bit more money to the regular versions). All that money you folks have ...

Re: Unity 2000 #4 art for sale ebay?

It looks dead about the fan attempt to make a book. From what I can tell the art is done all the way to issue #6. Jim Starlin seems to have actually completed it. But it seems Classic Media made a fuss over it because of their 3 characters. No one has posted on the thread about this fan collection ...

Re: Unity 2000 #4 art for sale ebay?

Well why don't the fans all get together and recreate this the rest of Unity 2000? I imagine its the fans that may have all the unused completed art pages. That'd be so cool. Thats probably a nightmare idea itself.

Unity 2000 #4 art for sale ebay?

Sorry if this may have been brought up before, I know Unity 2000 is incomplete but theres an auction for art from #4 which we know doesn't exist. Did it get to the point Jim Starlin had actually drawn the issue? IIf so I had no clue about that.

Re: Valiant moving forward with Harbinger movie!

This is cool but I find it hard to believe Valiant can do this on their own, let alone with less than one or multiple groups backing the film. Its make or bust for movies these days without major fiscal backing. I'll believe this when it goes into production.

Re: Valiant Solicitations For April 2013

I went to amazon.ca and Chapters.ca and noticed the Shadowman tpb is listed at $10.99 CAN as the cover price. So maybe it is suppose to be a cheap trade and the Prsviews is a misprint? Just saying.

Re: Valiant Solicitations For April 2013

Yeah I too was surprised by the Shadowman trade at the $15 price. I thought they meant all starting volumes in the trades line would be the $10 price. Maybe just the initial 4 launching titles trades? Oh well.

Re: FCBD 2013

Cool Valiants doing a sampler of the VH1 stuff for the Valiant Masters HC line. Wonder if there are just EW, Ninjak and Shadowman among the samplers? Maybe Rai or others? If so these reprint bits can't be anymore than 5-8 pages as brief reads. This reminds me when DC Comics did those two one shot ...

Re: VALIANT October Sales Discussion

I got the latest from this summer of Diamond Dist.'s graphic novel backlist. The X-O: Birth HC under the Valiant listings is no longer available. The A&A and Harbinger HC's are the only ones left from Diamonds level of available stock. I gather that VEI isn't really keeping these in print? Assuming ...

Re: VALIANT October Sales Discussion

The Bloodshot hardcover did 962 copies. So with all this info, what was the order sales numbers for the earlier three Valiant hardcovers from '07-'08? I think its been mentioned before here but I can't get myself to look for the info. That'd be interseting to see and compare and maybe get an idea ...

Re: VALIANT February 2013 Solicits!

Really surprised that the Bloodshot trade is still the same price as the Harbinger trade from the previous month since BS has one less issue reprinted. I know the X-O trade for December was an intro low price but you'd at least think the Bloodshot one would have a price somewhere in between the X-O ...

Yeah that is the main thing with the books today the glossy paper. That glare does suck in todays comics and trades/hc's.

Finally got this book and also surprised its actually like half an inch all around bigger than the other 3 hardcover releases. So it won't even match the other books in size on a bookshelf. :(

I just read on a Marvel Masterworks message boards for this book and 2-3 posts their pretty miffed about this book, my thoughts too. I'm posting it here as well. I know its been said here the people at Valiant wanted to emulate the original look and feel of the original comics themselves right down ...

could they work out an agreement that would let them publish Solar, Magnus & Turok as hard covers?
This was discussed at the panel at NYCC (well, including those characters in a Unity re-print, anyway). It was clear from my POV that this is something that they want to do, and something that they ...

Re: X-O Manowar TPB in December

Glad its a trade. If they went to HC I'd be dissapointed. Hardcovers are too expensive. Hope this is a sign of future trades to be at low prices too. Their 4 old classics HC's were too pricey for the 7-8 issue content at most. So its 4 issues being reprinted? On facebook people thought it was the ...

I also wonder what is the exact future of the "Valiant ...

Re: New Valiants cheap printing quality?

Well IDW Publishing, like last year, ceased the cardstock covers as well on their comics. So its not a surprise this is happening. I must admit in my mind that the current Valiant comics do seem cheaper in paper quality compared to other publishers. Its good enuff to reproduce the modern coloring of ...

Re: X-O Manowar #1 2nd Printing

When comic publishers saying their gonna do a 2nd print it means its no longer available at the distributer level, Diamond comics, to satisfy re-orders for the comic stores. We may see certain comics still on the shelves at stores but that doesn't mean it represents the demand all around beyond that ...
