Got a couple new Valiant Binds back from Houchen. The lines actually match-up on the new ones (Harbinger & Archer) I am just holding them at a slight angle.

Does the original Manhunter from DC comics count as obscure? He had his own comic in the late 80's but no one read it so that's pretty obscure. :?

This is true. Here is a quick Iron Man he did in my free book. He said at a con last year he was timed and can do a Iron Man profile in 30 seconds.

Those are great! They really help personalize the books.

Although I'm not a Punisher fan, I really like that drawing. Almost makes me want to pick up some Punisher comics to copy your book.

Yeah he did charge. But it was reasonable and he had already done a very cool Iron Man in my "free book" the day before. In fact I got a lot of really cool stuff in my free book at this convention.

Someone today picked up my bound copy of Magnus Robot Fighters and the first thing they said was, "Why is this dude wearing go-go boots?" It's that lack of caring about making characters look cool that sunk them. Comics have a huge cool-factor and between Harbinger where everyone wore t-shirts and ...

What do you guys think of this? Especially for those that use head & tail bands not a bad deal...the only problem I have is that a nice 2 inch book would cost $35 and only 1 line of writing on spine.

Valiant was hurt by a lot of things. I think it always suffered a style problem as a pre-teen I remember looking at Magnus and thinking "Did someone steal this guys pants or did he chose to dress like a female disco dancer?" They all had this retro look to them when the bulk of the comic book ...

Looking at you books and looking online at LBC, how many issues do you put into a bound book?

Cause one a book is trimmed and bound it doesnt matter how bad the corners or spines were. I paid under $30 for the complete Battlestar Galactica on Ebay. And maybe 50cents a piece for the rest.
