DCBS carries everything both companies publish. :?
Oh, well thanks. When I clicked on DC and Marvel only a few select books came up. I must have done something wrong. Thanks for the info.

Which site has a better discount on books ? DCBS looks like a decent discount and the shipping is a straight up $7.00 (well $6.95).

Hey, I looked at DCBS, MOC, and TFAW and DCBS looks to have the highest dicsounts. But DCBS doesn't carry a lot of Marvel and DC. So if you like those companies you ...

Is there a spot on here to advertise great mail order companies like these so everyone can be in the loop about what is available?

If there is one spot it would be much easier for everyone to find the info. I only just learned of DCBS and was thinking were has this been. I could have saved a lot ...

That's www.dcbservice.com and is talked about quite a bit here. Many of us use it and are fond of it as well.

BTW, you could probably have gotten by with one post, instead of three, with this information.
Oh ok, I was excited to share the news and didn't want anyone to miss out.

I found an online comic store with super high discounts

I just found an online comic store that sells all the Independents Comics like Boom, Darkhorse, Dynamic, Image, and so on at about 35% off (some they sell for less, some for more). Some books, like 1st issues, are offered at 75% off.

It's a great deal, I just ordered my december comics. I got $44 ...

I don't get so into characters. I tend to follow the writer and artist. If they produce good work, then I will want to see more of it regardless of what character or titile they are applying their talents to.

Great topic. I thought alot about this after reading Doc Solar 2 and thinking about how crappy the character designs are in that book.

I'd love to know not only who created the VALIANT characters, but also who designed them.

These make alot of sense:
Don Perlin - Bloodshot;
Layton - X-O;
And ...

The last issue of Irredeemable really juiced things up. The story really picked up the pace a lot and had plenty of character development, while featuring practically no action.

Just an up date in case someone's considering checking out the title.

Indeed.

You know, I think they had it going again at Broadway. That is of course until the financial wall caved in. :bricks:[/quote]

Both Broadway and Defiant had something special. When it comes to choosing reliable, longterm business partners, Shooter seems to have a pretty bad head on his ...

If you look at how long they lasted without that guy I think it proves how little he brought to the table.

I agree, Jim does give credit to Jay Jay. Although, sometimes he does so to discredit Bob Layton.

I'm a big Savage Dragon fan. I still like this series. It's best run was issues 1-75, but it's still fun at this point. I'm hoping the Savage Dragon is going to get killed off soon, for good this time, so that his son Malcom can take over. That's the direction I would go with it.

Doctor Manhatten does seem to be based on Doctor Solar. Doctor Solar appeared a long time before Doctor Manhatten. Their origins are similar, their powers are similar, and they deal with some similar issues. Alan Moore has stated that his Watchmen characters were based on a group of Charlton ...

As far as Valiant being better than Marvel and DC at the time...there was no one at Valiant who could hold a candle to Jim Lee. I call *SQUEE*...

Barry Smith at that time had already been considered one of the best in the biz for years...

and Layton and Shooter were definitely no slouches ...

I'm with Moore DCE needs to focus on the DCU, Vertigo, Wildstorm, and the rest of their lines, and not doing sequels, prequels, and spin-offs for and from Watchmen . If Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, JMS, Jim Lee, and the rest of their "top flight talent", can't sell the comics that they write and ...

I've found several good series.

"Irredeemable" by Mark Waid is a really awesome tale of a Super-Man like character gone bad. For about fourteen issues the story was fast paced and intertaining. The horror of having an evil "Super-Man" flying around the world terrorizing people and generally just ...
